The Diary Game || 03rd Oct 2024
Hello Friends, how are you all? Hope all well at your end. I’m doing good by the grace of God. A very warm welcome to all of you to my latest post 😊.
It’s the mid of the week but it already feels like the weekend. So yesterday 2nd October 2024, we had a national holiday since it was Gandhi Jayanti - the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi Ji. A lot of people also address it as dry day 😁😆. Well, living in Gujarat, for us everyday is a dry day 😂. Anyway jokes apart , it’s a day of national pride for all Indians 🇮🇳.
Chilling at Home
I started my day by going to the gym in the morning, today I was a bit late as I slept late the previous night. I had some friends coming over at my place so we were anyways gonna sleep late. Later during the day I had some plans to visit my friend’s place as she has tons of chaniya cholis (chaniya choli is a traditional outfit usually worn during the festival of Navratri). The festival of Navratri is celebrated vibrantly all across India. Especially in Gujarat, it is celebrated in a glorious manner.
Last year’s Garba night at Office
Navratri - which translates to Nine Days is observed in honour of the goddess Durga. In some places it is also called as Durga Puja. All the night nights are spent by doing the puja followed by playing the very famous Garba dance (Garba is a form of Gujarati dance traditionally performed during the nine-day festival. It’s a very popular dance especially in Gujarat. People have a very good time dancing to the tune of Garba along with their friends and family. It’s a time of joy and celebration. The ladies get an excuse of dressing up with the beautiful chaniya cholis and the men also enjoy dancing the dandiya raas garba. All in colourful clothes with extremely high energy and enthusiasm. In some places they even continue dancing the entire night. It’s really a sight to watch.
Navratri selfie
Vijayadashami also known as Dussehra, marks the end of Navratri commemorating the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravana. This is a major Hindu festival and is celebrated with a lot of faith and devotion. Today I was chatting with my friend and he told me he has observed a fast which he will continue for all the nine days of the festival. Adding to the tradition and rituals, I was chatting with another friend of mine and she told me that a specific colour has been dedicated to each day of the Navratri which is considered sacred and auspicious. In honour of that, she wore a Yellow outfit today at office, signifying Day 1 of Navratri which symbolises happiness, brightness, and energy. It’s such a delight to watch everyone around us immersed in the spirit of festivities and celebration. 🙌 🥳
Garba Night with friends
Talking about myself, I enjoy celebrating all kinds of festivals with all my friends, colleagues and family. As I mentioned earlier I had come to my friend’s place so I could find the best chaniya choli to wear to the Garba Night. I love to dance Garba, listening to the beautiful loud music and the irresistible beats. It gets me all excited and groovy, to watch and dance along with all the people in the Garba night. Each day is a new experience and a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our friends dancing and swaying and singing to the catchy tunes 😊. Every year we all plan to go to many different places along the city, where we dance and enjoy ourselves.
It’s a huge craze here in Gujarat during these nine nights. We all start arranging for passes of different places, arranging chaniya choli/ ghagra cholis for each other, figuring out what jwellery to wear and so on and so forth. So I already have 3 days of garba lined up which I am really excited for 😌. Spoke to some of my friends to join me along. I hope all of you are also enjoying the festival time with your friends and family.
Enjoying KFC
So after picking up the chaniya choli from my friend I proceeded to have some lunch at KFC restaurant and enjoyed the delicious meal 😋. The ride to her place was quite a long ride so me and my friend had a gala time traveling to and fro just to arrange some chaniya choli 😆.
By the time we reached home we were so exhausted that we took a nap and relaxed for some time.
So guys, this was all for my post today. Hope you all enjoyed reading it. Don’t forget to share your thoughts and any feedback you would like to share so that I can improve going forward.

Many Blessings...🙏🏻
I like my home state Goa though, even if I have not visited the state since 2008. There is never a dry day and thins are cheaper, compared to any other state barring Sikkim-Bengal border. Have a blast, have fun!
That’s great 😃 I love Goa too 😁.
Thanks for reading.
