Hello Friends! How are you all? Hope everyone is fine 😇. I am doing good as well, enjoying the festive season here in India. It’s been pretty great. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Diwali 🪔.
So this is actually going to be a post which is continued from my previous post. It’s about my travel story. So let’s start with my post ✍️.
As mentioned in my last post, I was in Goa to attend my cousin’s wedding. After the wedding and all the other rituals were done, we had a plan to visit Majorda, Goa. It was a 1 hour, 23 minutes drive from Parra. We had to pick up a parcel from one of our family friends because she wanted to send it to Mozambique. We spent a night over there, and the next morning we had a train to go to Delhi. Our next destination was Dehradun, Uttarakhand, the capital of the state, which is near the Himalayan foothills. It was going to be my first time visiting there and I was thrilled.
Stuck in Delhi Traffic
So we boarded the Rajdhani Express at 8:00 a.m. from Madgaon, Goa. It was a 1 day and 10 hour journey from Goa to Delhi. We reached Hazrat Nizamuddin station, and from there we had booked a cab to go to Dehradun. It was a 4 hours and 26 minutes drive. During the cab ride, the driver played such nice old Hindi songs, and he was quite a talker. So the ride didn’t feel much boring; 😅 it was actually fun. Also, it was great to quickly leave the station because it was too crowded. On the way, we also encountered some protests going on on the highway with so many news reporters as well. It was important for us to get out of Delhi on time otherwise we would not be able to reach Dehradun the same day.
Enjoying the journey
Finally, when we reached Dehradun, we checked in at our hotel and rested for a while because it was a long journey. So the day we reached Dehradun, it was my birthday. So we were planning to celebrate it over there itself. At night we had a plan to have dinner with our family friends and to cut my birthday cake. It was a great surprise for me, as they showed up with some flowers and gifts. I was truly grateful to them. After we had our dinner, we then proceeded to our hotel and called it a day.

The next morning, it was Ash Wednesday; it’s the beginning of the Lent season, which is a 40-day period that ends on Easter Day. So the church timings were in the evening at 6:30 p.m., so we had the entire day to ourselves. We had some lunch in a restaurant famous for Momos and some other Korean dishes that were suggested by our friends. Then we walked around a bit around the city, visited the park, and just explored a little. Soon it was time to go to church in the evening, so we went there and attended the mass. After mass, we had some light dinner and then went back to the hotel.

The next day it was time to go to our next destination, so we booked a cab and packed our bags to leave. On the way we also visited the Dehradun Zoo. We saw some animals and a variety of fishes. It was great!
Mornings with these beautiful creatures
