Hi, my fellow steemians. Best wishes in the day and have a wonderful week ahead. I want to appreciate the contest organizer. Thank you @jyoti-thelight for the contest.

This is going to be my first power up post. Please guys read and see how I did the power up. I have initially being powering up without taking screenshot and writing about it but this time I have decided to share with you all especially those who are new to the platform so that they too can learn.

Now let's see the step by step process which I used to power up this amount of Steem.

Firstly, I Login to my Steemit wallet and I used my private active key because that is the key that gives access to performing such a transaction. You can see the image of my assets below as it shows that I can perform other functions.

Secondly I clicked on the drop down button which is standing beside my liquid Steem and I selected the power up option you see in the screenshot below.

Thirdly, I entered the amount of the Steem I wanted to power up and in this case I powered up all my Steem and that is why you see all Steem is selected and then I went ahead to press the power up button as seen in the screenshot below.

Lastly, I was asked to confirm the transaction which I did by clicking on the ok button as you can see from the screenshot below.

Finally I went back to my wallet to see if the Steem has been added to my Steem power and I noticed that the asset has been added hence I went ahead to go out of the wallet because what I wanted has taken place.

Write the importance of performing powerup.

Powering up our Steem has many importantqnce but the little I have learnt so far is that whenever you power up your Steem, you will be able to grow your account and support others with upvotes. Also if you power up you will have influence on the platform and you can be able to do a lot of things.

There are many privilege attached to powering up and one of them is that you will get to join other activities within the Steemit platform such as becoming a community curator, applying for various positions such as Steem representative and many more.
