Sikkim:Where Mountains Meet Magic


Sikkim is the place where snow-capped peaks pierce the sky and ancient customs come alive, a hidden gem nestled in the Himalayas. Forget all problems here you can experience a culture as vibrant as the prayer flags dancing in the breeze.
Sikkim is the northeast part of India.

Dance and music of sikkim:-


There are three main ethnic communities in sikkim- bhutias, lepchas, Nepalese.
The bhutias worship Buddhism. They celebrate the annual losar festival with kagyed dance which shows the story of Buddhism. Lepchas known for their deep connection with nature. The dance like" zo mal lok" depict the story of harvesting. Now Nepalese community the largest community. Maruni dance and tamang selo dance followed by beats of dhapmu shows the love for dance.

Bhutiya tribe wears bakhu or kho. It is a loose cloak like garb that is tied around waist with silk belts. Lepcha community wears Thokro dum consisting of white pajamas paired with yenthatse and shambo . Dumvum it is worn by lepcha women. Shurval are worn by Nepalese men , it’s a long double breasted garment along with trousers. Pharia is worn by Nepalese women. Namchok , lyak, gyar, naugeri, kantha, phiru, yencho are some gold and silver jewelries wear by womens in sikkim

Handicrafts of sikkim:-


Sikkim is rich of cultural heritage bcos of their reach handicraft.

Here, you'll find handcrafted magic. Lepcha shawls are famous woven shawl made by sheep's wool .Bhutiya thangka art are like colourful storybooks on cloth, are a must-have. Nepalese stone carving remains a living art form of sikkim .Eye out for beautiful woodwork and those cool masks used in ceremonies – they're mini works of art.

Food that Warms the Soul


Sikkim's about delicious comfort food. Momos, are lifeline of sikkim those yummy steamed dumplings, come in all flavours. Thukpa, a noodle soup, is perfect for chilly evenings. Phagsapa a strip of pork fat stewed in dry chillies and raddish. Sinki another traditional dish made out of raddish taproots. Sel roti mild sweet bread. And many more to explore. Try Gundruk, a fermented veggie dish, or Szechuan pepper for a spicy kick.Siddhkur, a creamy rice pudding that'll melt in your mouth.

Sikkim's beauty goes way beyond Instagram.Gangtok is the incredible capital with awesome monasteries. Pelling's a chill town with killer views of Kanchenjunga, a super tall mountain. For flower power, Yumthang Valley is the place to be!

Tsongmo lake famous for its extraordinary bueaty. I highly recommend to visit Kanchenjunga national park include unique diversity of plains , valley, lakes , and glaciers .

Sikkimis are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. If you visit sikkim try their homestay you'll experience their traditions ,culture share stories, homemade local food and leave with a heart full of happy memories.
