Day 2 : Trip started from Kochi || Exploring Ford Kochi

in Hindwhale Communityyesterday

Hello friends, once again I welcome you all to this new post of mine, where I will be talking about the next part of my Kerala trip, which will cover Day 2. So let's get started.

On Day 2, we were still traveling by train. When we woke up in the morning, we saw that the train was moving along the Coromandel coast, and the view outside was full of greenery because it was the rainy season. All the hills were lush with green trees.

All of us woke up around 8-9 AM, took care of our daily routines, and then sat together on the adjacent seats to have breakfast.

At Ernakulam Jn. Kochi

Our destination station was supposed to arrive around 1 PM in the afternoon. I spoke to the hotel staff and informed them that our check-in might be slightly delayed. Our train stopped at Ernakulam Junction. We all took our luggage out of the train and got off at the station.

After getting off at the station, we all began our Kerala journey. After taking a few pictures at the station, we headed towards our hotel.

We had already decided that we wouldn’t spend unnecessarily, but we wouldn’t compromise on enjoyment either. So, when we stepped out of the station, we went to the railway taxi inquiry. During the inquiry, they demanded ₹1000 to drop us at our location. We refused and asked another taxi, which was local, and they asked for ₹800, which also seemed expensive to us.

Then, I checked on Google and saw that the metro was directly connected to the station. So, we went to the metro station, bought tickets for ₹120 in total, and reached the station near our hotel. From there, our hotel was within walking distance.

Some Random Clicks

After checking in at the hotel, we quickly got ready and took the metro to Fort Kochi. After reaching a nearby station, we took a bus to Fort Kochi's main location, and that was our first day of sightseeing.

When we reached Fort Kochi, it was around 5 PM, and most of the nearby tourist sites were about to close in 1 to 1.5 hours. So, without wasting any time, we booked a cab and asked the driver to take us to all the famous tourist spots that are truly beautiful.

At Peter Celli Road , Ford Kochi

First, we went to the famous Peter Celli Road, which was built by the Portuguese and looked incredibly charming. We quickly reached there and took a lot of photos. The streets were painted in various colors, which added to the beauty of the place.

After leaving from there, we visited the oldest church, Santa Cruz Church, which was very beautiful. However, since there was a mass happening and we were a bit late, we weren't allowed to go inside. But we requested, and they allowed us to have a look from outside for a while.

We took a few photos and then moved on to our next destination, where there was an Indian Navy Museum. The museum was filled with artifacts related to World War II. We explored all the exhibits, saw many armors and weapons used during that time, and took some pictures as well.

We were all thoroughly enjoying the start of the trip, but after a while, the girls started feeling hungry. So, we went to a nearby café and ordered juice for everyone, opting for a healthy juice. After that, we all took a boat back to our room, enjoying the boat ride on the way. The boat fare was very cheap, costing only ₹10 per person and taking just 15 minutes to reach Kochi.

Enjoying Feri service in Kochi

When we were returning to Kochi, I noticed that the night view at the port was incredibly beautiful because there were very large ships and the lights were sparkling brightly, creating a dazzling atmosphere. Seeing this, I took some pictures, and then we returned. We were all extremely tired, so we ordered dinner to our room and, after eating, everyone went to sleep because we had to wake up early to go to Munnar hill station.

So, this was the story of our second day. I hope you liked it. We'll meet in my next post. Until then, my regards to all of you.
