Steemit Engagement Challenge S6/W5 - What were some of your childhood dreams and how did they come true?
Introduction
Hello, world! I warmly welcome you all to my blog, thank you for your time and enthusiasm to read content from my blog. I appreciate the steemit team for the organization of the engagement challenge contests and also this wonderful community, thanks for spotting this educative and lively contest for steemians to share. I am going to be sharing my childhood dreams and how they come true according to the topic. So keep reading down, please.
Childhood was the most lovely experience in my life, at that stage of life, playing was the most important thing I wouldn't like to miss because there was always no joy when I play alone but rather with friends or peers. At that time, we say things we wish to become in the future, and we said a lot but today, some of us got to where we were shouting to become in the future and some of us couldn't make it but the joy remains that we still have life to live and so, we can still make it to be that person we want to become.
What are my childhood dreams and wishes?
While a child, I dreamt big because my father happened to work in Abuja and sometimes, we travel to Abuja for holidays, I have been so observant while a child and I keep asking my father some challenging questions. I realized that where we live as a house and where some other people live as a house are quite different and I tend to ask my father why? He smiled and said to me, my daughter, I so much wish to give you the best in life but I do not school much and I didn't further my education that is why I am at this level.
The question I asked my father and the answers he gave me was a reason to dream big in other to make it in life. Immediately, I told my father I will become a doctor to take good care of him, mummy, and all my siblings. My wish to become a doctor was because my mother always falls sick and also my elder sister so, as a child, I imagined being a doctor would solve the housing problem, that was my taught anyways.
Are those dreams fulfilled?
Growing up was not too easy for me because my parents were not wealthy so the little we had we managed. I finished secondary school at the age of 16, the first WAEC(west Africa Examination council) was not a favor, and the second was not a favor but the third examination favored me and I was very happy. As time goes on, I wrote the entrance examination in preparation for my studies and my dream is to become a doctor. I wrote the examination and went for the final exams but I couldn't get admission.
After additional 3 years of staying home and hoping for admission, I got tired and on my 4th examination, I changed course, and immediately, I was offered admission. Being a doctor is a good profession but here in my country, if not God, it is always not easy at all. In summary, I could not become what I wanted to be due to so many factors in life, despite dreaming big but God did it his way. I studied physics at the university and finished serving this year ending of October.
Some people achieved their exact dreams and wishes but unfortunately for some of us, we could not I want to count it a great privilege for what I am today. Thank you all for reading through my post, I invite @hannybanny, @marpa , and @heedysguevara to participate in this contest, thanks once more.
Your essay suggests that success does not come easily and that you will struggle a lot in life, we want to thank you for your participation, 👍🏻 Best of Luck.
Hola amiga!
Saludos.
