Hello Everyone,

Today I will be making my entry for this contest and I can't wait to also read from you all.

This topic is really worth giving a thought. More like, what happens if what aid life activities is taken away from us.
We may not be able to picture life without those things. Let's avail this opportunity to crack our heads around this reality a little.

First off, motor vehicle has made life easier for many people. It help us get around quickly and go wherever we want. Before cars, people had to walk or use horses to travel, which took a lot more time and effort.

Cars have changed the way cities and towns look. They allowed people to live farther away from where they work, creating suburbs. This made traveling a long distance so easy.

Lots of jobs depend on cars. People work in factories making cars, selling them, fixing them, and selling fuel. Cars also brought new businesses like gas stations, car washes, and repair shops.

Now, we have this, but what becomes of man if motor vehicles are globally banned tomorrow???

Let's take a little time to explore the benefits getting rid of cars worldwide would bring to man.

  • Environmental Benefits:
With no more cars burning fossil fuels, urban air quality would improve, this will bring about better health outcomes and reduced healthcare costs associated particularly with respiratory illnesses.

Additionally, it would mitigate climate change by reducing carbon emissions which would help preserve the whole world.

  • Social Equity:
Access to transportation is a key factor in social and economic equity. At least , I believe. By ensuring that everyone has access to affordable and efficient public transport, a vehicle ban could help level the field and reduce disparities in access to education, employment, and essential services. This would particularly benefit low-income earners that often lack access to reliable transportation options.

  • Safety
Eliminating vehicles would remove the risk of traffic accidents, making streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. This would not only save lives but also reduce the burden on healthcare systems and emergency services.

Additionally, the absence of cars would eliminate the need for traffic enforcement and related infrastructure, freeing up resources for other purposes.

Now, let's talk about the disadvantages.
Remember the saying that whatever has an advantage has a disadvantage.

Let's take a look at how awkward life without vehicle will be.

  • Economic Disruption:
Millions of jobs would be lost in manufacturing, sales, maintenance, and transportation services. However, new industries would emerge to cater to the needs of a car-free society, such as expanded public transportation services, urban planning consulting, and sustainable infrastructure development. Meanwhile, people who live in far distance would stand the chance of losing their jobs to people who live close by.

  • Opposition:
Banning cars is likely to face opposition from various stakeholders, including car manufacturers, and individuals who value their personal freedom and mobility. Political opposition could hinder efforts to implement a vehicle ban, leading to delays or watered-down policies that fail to achieve meaningful change.

  • Emergency Response Challenges:
Emergency services, such as ambulances and fire trucks, depend on vehicles to respond quickly to crises and save lives. If they aren't there what is our hope of survival?

This could pose challenges to emergency response particularly in rural areas with limited access to alternative transportation options.

In Conclusion

Banning motor vehicles around the world is not such an easy task and we cannot predict the level of harm or good it may bring to the human society.
As much as we all need a healthy environment, we also need an easy life. The escape route here could be minimal use of these vehicles to improve our health.

I would like to invite @mm-writes, @jueco and @jaywise to embark on this contest too
