My Hobby

Hello everyone, I'm @destined from Nigeria. I hope you all are doing fine. I'm happy to be here. So today, I'll be contesting in this contest titled 'My hobby'. In life, everyone has one hobby or the other, some have two, some have as much as five, so let's talk about my hobby. A hobby is something you do for fun during your leisure period. It's something you enjoy found when you are relaxing and with it, time passes fast because you can spend hours on it without getting tired. I have lots of hobbies which I will mention but I will be talking on the major one.

• Reading

My number one hobby is reading. I love reading so much and I started reading when I was small. I can still remember spending hours going through the newspaper whenever my father bought one and I was always encouraged too by him. Growing up, I have not stopped reading. I read all kinds of books especially novels. No matter how big a novel is, if it's interesting, I will read from page to page until I'm through.

I'm an art student so my genre of books doesn't really cover science example I won't enjoy reading chemistry textbook or physics textbook but I enjoy science fiction novels. So the genre I read are:

CRIME AND THRILLERS: I love thriller and crime novels so much. This is because it keeps me in suspense. It also makes me learn to be alert and find a way out if I see myself in some circumstances. I have so many authors that I read such novels from. Examples of the authors I enjoy are James Hadley Chase, Sidney Sheldon, Michael Crichton etc.

ROMANTIC NOVELS: This is another genre of books I love so much. It makes me feel the love between the characters in the book, also helps me identify real love and fake love. Sometimes the story ends happily, sometimes it ends sadly. Romance here, can be historical romance or contemporary romance.

Horror novels: This is another genre of novel I love so much. I love the suspense and the horror though it's always fiction.

Science fiction is another genre of novel I love. Jurassic park is one science novel I'm not sure I will ever forget. Followed by doomsday conspiracy.

Nonfiction: is also enjoyed my me. These are true life stories that can teach the reader lessons. I learn a lot from reading it. Currently, I'm reading ' You have a brain' by Ben Carson. This has taught me lots of lessons tho I'm yet to finish reading it. One lesson I have learnt is that every child, no matter how dumb he or she may sound, has what it takes to make it.

My Bible: This is another book that I enjoy reading so much. I can't do without it. The bible helps me and guides me every day to make the right decision and it helps directs my path. Every issues of life can be found in the Bible.

I love reading and apart from reading for leisure, reading has helped improve my vocabulary and a good reader is a good writer. So this hobby of reading has also helped improve my writing skills.
