Which Way Is He Looking?

Sunday cat is watching what I am doing in the basement. He is on the landing, at the top of the stairs, looking down. I think he’s checking if I’m cleaning out his litter box. Cats like clean litter.
The shadow makes it look like Sunday is looking the other way.

There is a cat door installed on the basement door and Sunday and Red, being inside cats, can go down there to their litter boxes without me having to leave the door open.
Normally a cat door is used on an outside door but it works well on the inside basement door.
