Good day, everyone! I'm back for another round of one of my favorite steemit contests. Today I'll be reviewing Control, another Remedy game that I recently completed.

Control has a slew of secrets to unravel, powers to wield, and foes to dispatch. The game can be a delight to play, whether it's enjoying the scary ambiance of the guarded Federal Bureau facility or using the many various powers earned to explore the Bureau's deeper levels.

STORY

Jesse Faden eventually locates the Federal Bureau of Control facility, a.k.a. The Oldest House, where her brother has been imprisoned since the incident in Ordinary many years ago. Things go bad when she discovers the director of the Bureau murdered himself and picks up his gun, only to discover the building has been taken over by an entity known as the Hiss. Now she must assume the role of Director of the FBC in order to rescue the building while searching for her brother.

Jesse refers to "you" as Polaris throughout the tale, the creature within her brain that was able to bring Jesse to the building where her brother was abducted. The player is essentially Polaris, who is guiding Jesse. Even if players never hear or comprehend what Polaris is saying or doing, they can tell Jesse genuinely cares about her. It's nearly self-referential.

EFFECTS AND GRAPHICS

The game looks fantastic but has a bleak atmosphere. Players will come across areas that look eerily like an actual office building as they walk through the almost-abandoned halls and offices of the FBC, such as long winding hallways, abandoned science research rooms, and tons of unexplained supernatural entities known as the Hiss that have distorted the building into a strange labyrinth.

The structure becomes a beacon for all sorts of graphical effects thanks to the magical benefit the Hiss bring with them. While some areas appear normal at first, things begin to look weird after a few steps, such as the presence of the Hiss among the floating bureau members and the seemingly random distortions in the air that suggest the Hiss are still in the building.

GAMEPLAY

The action moves quickly and fluidly. When players initially begin the game, they are exploring a huge Office Tower in a conventional third-person shooter. This is where the majority of the game takes place, with players exploring and picking up collectibles as well as speaking with individuals to discover more about the Bureau, the Objects of Power, and how they are contained. It's like a big Metroidvania with a lot of chambers to explore, a lot of items to locate, and a lot of mysteries waiting to be discovered.

COMBAT

THE WEAPON OF SERVICE
The weapon of service begins as a standard pistol named Grip. It shoots well, handles well, and contains ammo that can be recharged without the need to reload. Players' guns can evolve into a shotgun named "Shatter" and a machine pistol called "Spin" when they level up and collect odd ingredients around the Oldest House. While there is just one gun, there are several variants from which players may select, but they can only equip two at a time.

THE LAUNCH
Launch, on the other hand, which foregoes gun accuracy in favor of latching on to enemy targets, has quickly become my primary assault tactic and the focus of my skill development. This ability also allows us to connect with our environment. Whether we're lifting filing cabinets or pulling bits of cement out of the walls and floors when they aren't available, whatever we pull toward our raised right hand is an interacting element of the universe.

CONCLUSION

This is the scenario... It was one of the most entertaining games I'd ever played. It's an amazing game that's both odd and beautiful! The visuals and lighting are stunning, the sound is great, the narrative is incredible, the characters are incredible, and so on! There's so much to see and do! This is an absolute must-play!
