Social norms and the pressure to get a social acceptance!

I have read it somewhere that, 'we usually do what the society tells us to do.' Is not it very true?

We shape our behavior, our belief, our life choices depending on what the social norm is. It's like following the popular belief to be on the safe side. As we can't function our social life properly if we don't follow the social norms, so it's not unusual to sacrifice our dream, desire, and choices for society.

There's always a pressure in us to get acceptance from the society, to get approval for our work. It's totally understandable why we do that. But if the pressure goes up from our tolerance level, we may not feel good physically and mentally.

It's not a healthy practice to always try to fit it, look good and get acceptance from the society, from our friends and family. It makes us emotionally unstable, we lose our self-esteem and our feeling for self-worthiness become zero.

But it's not always that we follow the rule. Sometimes we try to look beyond to establish our dream, to show the world what we are.

How can we do that?

• Stop judging yourself the way other people judge you. We are more than what others think about us.
• Forcing on what we want can help us to fight back.
• Looking for the positive change can bring positivity in us.
• Accepting others thought also a good practice.

Don't get bothered by what others have to say about it. People will judge us no matter what. So, it's better to find our own way. But I believe, social acceptance is also necessary. Without it, we will never feel the connection with society. And it also brings responsibility.

So social norms and acceptance is very important. But we need to learn to deal with it in a better way. So that we don't have to feel the pressure and we can manage others to accept us easily.
