Dreaming freedom - Soñando libertad

In a flock of seagulls, a small group of them dreamed of making a great trip in search of a better life, in search of something that would get them out of their routine that had begun to become very boring.

En una bandada de gaviotas, un pequeño grupo de ellas soñaba con hacer un gran viaje en busca de una mejor vida, en busca de algo que los hiciese salir de su rutina que se había empezado a tornar muy aburrida.

Although this was not well seen by most members of the flock, from time to time they talked about this dream they so longed for.

Aunque esto no era bien visto por la mayoría de los miembros de la bandada, de tanto en tanto ellos conversaban acerca de este sueño que tanto anhelaban.

One day after one of those talks they take courage and decide to start making their dreams come true. They quickly share their decision with the rest of the flock who vigorously judged them by showing their disapproval, but nothing mattered because the decision was made.

Un día después de una de esas charlas toman coraje y deciden comenzar a convertir en realidad sus sueños. Rápidamente comparten su decisión con el resto de la bandada quienes enérgicamente los juzgaron mostrando su desaprobación, pero nada importó por que la decisión estaba tomada.

After a quick farewell they began to flap their wings and began their great journey. Yes, it takes a lot of courage to make such a decision to leave everything for something they imagined but really had no certainty.

Después de una rápida despedida comenzaron a agitar sus alas y comenzó su gran viaje. Si que se necesita mucho valor para tomar tal decisión de dejar todo por algo que ellos imaginaban pero que en verdad no tenían certeza alguna.

The trip began fantastic, with great enthusiasm and great spirit, since he had removed a backpack from his back. They had begun to make that great journey that they had imagined so much. They felt they were dreaming with their eyes open.

El viaje comenzó fantástico, con mucho entusiasmo y un gran ánimo, ya que se había quitado una mochila de su espalda. Habían comenzado a realizar ese gran viaje que tanto habían imaginado. Sentían que estaban soñando con los ojos abiertos.

The first days they traveled south following the coastline, finding abundant food and a safe place to rest every day.

Los primeros días viajaron hacia el sur siguiendo la línea costera, encontrando todos los días abundante alimento y un lugar seguro para descansar.

After a few days, they felt they had to turn eastward and that was how they started swimming offshore, on a trip in which they did not imagine everything that would await them.

Después de unos días, sentían que debían girar hacia el este y así fue como comenzaron a nadar mar adentro, en un viaje en el que no imaginaban todo lo que les esperaría.

During the first two days of the trip they were lucky to have good weather and to find each section not so extensive some other small island on which to rest.

Durante los primeros dos días de viaje tuvieron la suerte de tener buen clima y encontrarse cada tramos no tan extensos alguna que otra pequeña isla en la cual poder descansar.

A few hours after leaving the last island they would see for many days, they found a strong wind and rain storm. After several hours of fighting in the difficult storm, many thought of abandoning this journey and returning to their boring lives. It was logical that they had those thoughts, since with the passing of the days the hunger and the accumulated fatigue caused their enthusiasm to begin to dissolve, but luckily thanks to the encouragement of a few members of the group, they managed to persuade them and convince them to continue with the So dream trip.

A las pocas horas de partir de la última isla que verían por muchos días se encontraron con una fuerte tormenta de viento y lluvia. Después de varias horas de luchar en la dificil tormenta muchos pensaron en abandonar este viaje y volver a sus aburridas vidas. Era lógico que tuviesen esos pensamientos, ya que con el pasar de los días el hambre y el cansancio acumulado causaba que su entusiasmo comenzara a disolverse, pero por suerte gracias al aliento de unos pocos integrantes del grupo, lograron persuadirlos y convencerlos de seguir con el tan soñado viaje.

In the conversations prior to this great journey, if one of the members decided to return, everyone would return with him, since they were a team and thanks to that they had been able to organize this great trip.

En las conversaciones previas a esta gran travesía habían que si uno de los miembros decidía regresar, todos volverían con él, ya que eran un equipo y gracias a ello habían podido organizar este gran viaje.

The storm extended more than planned, but after two days of fighting with the wind the water and the huge waves of the ocean began to be seen on the horizon that the sun's rays began to appear through the clouds. Little by little they noticed how the wind began to wane, which was very good because they had been flying non-stop in a big storm for more than two days. As they were carried away by the current of exhausted air, they saw how little by little it appeared or intense blue that melted on the horizon with the immensity of the sea.

La tormenta se extendió más de lo planeado, pero luego de dos días de luchar con el viento el agua y las enormes olas del océano se comenzó a ve en el horizonte que los rayos de sol comenzaba a asomar por entre las nubes. Poco a poco notaron como el viento comenzaba a menguar, lo cual era muy bueno porque habían estado volando sin parar en una gran tormenta por algo más de dos días. A medida que se dejaban llevar por la corriente de aire ya exhaustos veían como poco a poco asomaba u intenso azul que se fundía en el horizonte con la inmensidad del mar.

Finally the storm passed and with the calm sea they could descend on the ocean to rest and look for some food, which unfortunately they could not find. There they spent several hours talking about the steps to follow and everyone agreed that they could no longer return, that the worst was over.

Por fin pasaron la tormenta y ya con el mar calmo pudieron descender sobre el océano a descansar y buscar un poco de alimento, que por desgracia no encontraban. Allí estuvieron varias horas conversando sobre los pasos a seguir y todos coincidieron que ya no podían regresar, que ya lo peor había pasado.

They decided to start moving their wings again since they did not want to fall asleep without first finding some food to recover their strength. After some flush over the sea and when the sun began to hide they saw in the distance how a great school of weights jumped on the surface. At that time they decided to take some height to be able to dive and be more effective at the time of the marriage. Thank God they were lucky and everyone could satisfy their appetite and recover the energies they had lost.

Decidieron así comenzar a mover sus alas nuevamente ya que no querían dormirse sin antes encontrar algo de alimento para poder recobrar sus fuerzas. Después de algunas de vuelo rasante sobre el mar y cuando el sol comenzaba a esconderse vieron a la distancia como un gran cardumen de peses saltaba sobre la superficie. En ese momento decidieron tomar algo de altura para poder zambullirse y ser más efectivos en el momento de la casería. Gracias a dios tuvieron suerte y todos pudieron satisfacer su apetito y recobrar las energías que habían perdido.

After the big feast the time of a little nap followed the incredible stillness of the sea. Near dawn and after sleeping in shifts they decided to take a trip with great desire to find land, or just a small island where you can relax.

Después del gran festín siguió el tiempo de una pequeña siesta aprovechando la increíble quietud del mar. Cerca del amanecer y después de dormir por turnos decidieron emprender viaje con mucha ansias de poder encontrar tierra firme, o tan solo una pequeña isla donde poder relajarse.

Again with the sun hiding on the horizon they could see in the distance what seemed to be the mainland, where they arrived after a few hours having a beautiful full moon as the only spectator.

Nuevamente con el sol escondiéndose en el horizonte pudieron divisar a lo lejos lo que parecía ser tierra firme, a donde llegaron al cabo de unas horas teniendo a una hermosa luna llena como único espectador.

The joy was really immense, they couldn't believe it; They were finally able to rest and relax. They were in this heavenly place for three days and then decided to resume their trip, since their idea the day they left was to live on a trip.

La alegría fue realmente inmensa, no lo podían creer; por fin pudieron descansar y relajarse. Estuvieron en este paradisíaco lugar durante tres días y luego decidieron retomar con su viaje, ya que su idea el día que se fueron era vivir de viaje.

When they resumed their flight they noticed that this wonderful place was just a small island and around it there was only water, but a few hours after leaving they noticed that other slightly larger islands began to appear on the horizon and it was so they managed to reach the mainland.

Cuando retomaron su vuelo notaron que ese maravilloso lugar se trataba tan sólo de una pequeña isla y a su alrededor no había más que agua, pero a las pocas horas de haber partido notaron que otras islas un poco más grandes comenzaban a aparecer en el horizonte y fue así que lograron llegar a tierra firme.

their morale rose to the maximum, they had realized that all the sacrifice and suffering that had involved crossing such a storm and being so many days without seeing more than the ocean around it had been worth it. Maybe when they thought about their trip they did not weigh the difficulties they could encounter, but the group work and the firm conviction of at least one of the members of the group when the rest faltered, helped everyone to fulfill this wonderful dream.

Su moral se elevó al máximo, se habían dado cuenta de que todo el sacrificio y el sufrimiento que había implicado cruzar semejante tormenta y estar tantos días sin ver más que océano a su alrededor había valido la pena. Quizá cuando ellos pensaron su viaje no ponderaron las dificultades con las que se podían encontrar, pero el trabajo en grupo y la firme convicción de al menos uno de los integrantes del grupo cuando el resto flaqueaba, ayudó a que todos pudiesen cumplir este maravilloso sueño.

After almost a year of travel in which they traveled from north to south as much as they wanted, they returned to their old home, but only for a few days. The flock to which they once belonged received them with much joy as they thought you would never see them again.

Al cabo de casi un año de viaje en el cual recorrieron de norte a sur cuanto quisieron regresaron a su antiguo hogar, pero tan solo por unos días. La bandada a la cual alguna vez pertenecieron los recibieron con mucha alegrías ya que pensaban que nunca más los verías.

Thus a small group was able to demonstrate that when several individuals share a dream and have a vocation to perform a real teamwork, everything can be achieved. Nobody says that everything will be easy and wonderful, surely there will be several storms and surely several will falter in their attempt to meet their goals, but that is when the rest of the group acquires vital importance, by encouraging people to continue despite difficulties.

Así un pequeño grupo pudo demostrar que cuando varios individuos comparten un sueño y tienen vocación de realizar un verdadero trabajo en equipo todo se puede lograr . Nadie dice que todo va a ser fácil y maravilloso, seguramente se atravesarán varias tormentas y con seguridad que varios flaquearan en su intento por cumplir sus metas, pero ahí es cuando el resto del grupo adquiere vital importancia, al dar ánimo en seguir a pesar de las dificultades.

And so these wonderful seagulls continued moving their wings in sublime flight, and with the wind caressing their feathers they managed to cross the seas again and again, cross storms and fulfill their longed for dream

Y así siguieron estas maravillosas gaviotas moviendo sus alas en sublime vuelo, y con el viento acariciando sus plumas lograron surcar una y otra vez cruzar los mares, atravesar tormentas y cumplir su sueño añorado
