I Found These Noodles On Clearance

I thought they looked interesting and they were being clearanced out for a dollar, so I figure what they hey. Maybe we can make something interesting out of them. So we dig out the Pinterest and get cooking. It's Japanese noodles for lunch today!

Inspired by our Hello Fresh boxes, we've stocked up on ingredients. We had a bunch of stuff on hand. Sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, onions, green onions and cilantro.

The noodles are beautifully packaged. We used two bundles.

Using the recipe as a guide, we chop up onions and made the sweet and salty brown sauce.

We're ready to cook! Let's toast some sesame! They burn easily, so we have to be careful.

Toasted Sesame

A beautiful toasted color. They're done.

Time to Cook the Pasta

Nothing like spaghetti, this is very starchy.

Once they were finished cooking, we had to wash them off.

Putting It All Together

We saute the chopped onions with the brown sauce.

Add some green onions.

Add in the pasta.

Mix it all together.

Add in more green onions.

Plating and Garnishing

We put the saucy noodles in a bowl and add the final ingredients. The toasted sesame and chopped cilantro.

It smells amazing! The kitchen has a sweet, sour and salty fragrance from the sauce. The dish is very fresh with the green onions and fresh cilantro.

What a special lunch! I have to bring home exotic ingredients more often! Have you ever made anything like this before?
