RE: Lacking a Sense of Perspective

Yes and in the same manner, not all Americans think he deserved to be killed or was a terrorist.

The aircraft incident was absurd and a literal representation of "when elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers". Iran have fucked things up for themselves with the international community and will get no sympathy from anyone any where.

However, sometimes, with this situation, I just wonder.

Sort:

"when elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers"

Interesting quote.

with this situation, I just wonder.

Yes, I wonder too. I don't assume Soleimani was a terrorist because I'm told he is, what I'm learning is that he has been a thorn in the side the the US for years and he's been tolerated. That is, until the attempted Benghazi part two that was foiled. Iran didn't know there was a line they'd better not cross. They know now.

Yeah but this is of course from the "USA point of view".

Yes of course, but look at it also from the eyes of an Iranian. We in the US are fed the line that the Iranian people are furious at the US for killing their hero - and we believe it. This is an assumption, reinforced by our media.

The reality is that the Iranian people are greatly relieved to finally see the regime get a kick in the face. For the first time, instead of saying "Death to America" they're saying “Death to dictator!” and “Basijis, IRGC, you are our ISIS!” Source

The Iranians know that the greater threat to their lives is IRAN, not the US.

Well yeah, this is a fact.
I'm not a fan of the USA always meddling only when it suits the US but at the same time, it's a fact that can't be erased that the US's influence sort of makes things better, only just though.
I guess a bit of my grievance is borne out of the fact that the US prance around like the heroes of Justice but haven't done enough to strongarm Nigeria into accepting the same energy used in the middle East to fix the menace that is Boko Haram and their Isis-esque activities in the Northern part of Nigeria, where I currently live.

the US prance around like the heroes of Justice but haven't done enough to strongarm Nigeria.. to fix the menace that is Boko Haram

I agree. Boko Haram is a bigger problem than Iran.

I guess. Iran is a whole country though. Fuck, what do I know anyways. I just want to drink beer with good people like you and hurt nobody.
