Fruit🍏🍊 Photography and Review Competition; THE WHITE CHAYOTE.

My submission is the White Chayote. It's white in colour but there are different varieties, in different locations across the world. It was first used in mexico and india for great dishes and of recent decades, in Africa.

In my language it's called 'ekilunuuna'. I love it because it's nutritious. It has got iron, it's got vitamin B12, B6, and it also has got vitamin A and C. It is a little bit acidic but is good on ulcers; for those of us who have got problems with our stomachs.

Among other great nutritional facts I found these online, hope they can expound more on why I love this fruit.

The chayote may have anticancer effects. Higher fruit and vegetable consumption is associated with a reduced risk of various types of cancer, including those of the digestive tract. Test-tube studies note that certain chayote compounds may slow the growth and progression of some cancer cells, such as those of cervical cancer and leukemia.
Although these results are promising, current evidence isn’t strong enough to suggest that chayote has cancer-fighting effects in humans.Ultimately, more research is needed.

One of the greatest attributes of chayote squash is its nutrition content, as it offers various essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Notably, chayote is particularly high in folate, which promotes proper cell division.

Alongside its nutrient density, chayote also happens to be low in calories, fat, sodium, and total carbs. As such, it’s quite healthy and makes for a good fit for various diets (1Trusted Source).

You can eat it when it is raw or you can eat it when it is cooked. That is why I love it, for its flexibility and diversity. You can make Chayote matchsticks, Chayote squash, Chayote with tomatoes or Spicy-pan Roasted Chayote as some of the dishes.
