Wooden sculptures for @strawberrry's CONTEST: Monuments and sculptures of my City #19
This is my entry for the monument and sculpture contest of @strawberrry. Here in this [post[(https://steemit.com/hive-176147/@strawberrry/contest-monuments-and-sculptures-of-my-city-19-pamyatniki-i-skulptury-moego-goroda-steemitcontest) you can find the rules for this contest.
This is a common sculpture that you can see here in the city and in the woodcraft shops that are a plenty. I couldn't find any indication around these sculptures to tell me why they were placed here.
They are actually a couple of sculptures in this circle, a man and a woman depicting the traditional attire of the natives here in the Cordilleras.
It shows the man as a hunter or warrior while the woman as a farmer with basket (kayabang) on her back. The spear held by the man is called gayang and a shield on the other hand. He also has a backpack called sangi where tools and other essential things are placed. Both have no upper garment. The woman in tapis or wrap around skirt and the man in bahag or g-string.
This can be found at Pacdal Circle Park.
Here is a screenshot from pinmapple.
As you can see, the wooden sculptures are blocked by a plant. When I first saw these when the circle was renovated, I made a mental note to take a photo of them and it was only now that I was able to.
Thanks much!
What interesting sculptures, you won't find such in our city!
While here it is a common one :D
