Photos Of Feathered Friends Week 3 - Feathered Friend Artworks
Hello everyone. This is Week 3 of this great contest, Photos Of Feathered Friends, hosted by @strawberry. Please check out the contest post here if you want to know more about this. Read up and join the fun.
I recently attended an art exhibit here in my city. The exhibit was hosted by a local group of women artists who call themselves Bai Hinang. The name is taken from the local dialect of our city which translates as follows: "Bai" meaning woman and "Hinang" meaning work. My daughter is a member of this group. In the exhibit I came upon some pieces of artworks of birds and other feathered creatures which is what I want to share with you in this post. They may not be photos of live feathered friends but they still are actually, only in art form.
Let us begin with this intriguing work on a very showy feathered being called a peacock.
Viewed from the opposite side.
The art work above could not be categorically termed as painting as different art media was used in making this to create a sort of three dimensional subject.
From a big bird to smaller ones like sparrows.
The two photos above are miniature paintings on sliced pieces of either a tree trunk or branch. They were displayed side by side to each other with a native music instrument, a kulintang in brass, between them.
And last but not least is my daughter's art, an owl perched on a tree branch at night under the full moon in colored pencil medium.
The photo below shows my daughter, on the left, and the buyer of her painting.
And that's all for this post. I hope you like it and also consider it as a valid entry to this exciting contest. Please stay safe and may peace be with you and your loved ones!
