Last August 15 my daughter who works in Germany visited Switzerland. It was a 3-day vacation and the very first place she went to was in Geneva. Aside from the United Nations General Headquarters, Geneva is also famous for the man-made fountain located at Lake Geneva called the Jet d'Eau.

The Jet d'Eau (French pronunciation: , Water-Jet) is a large fountain in Geneva, Switzerland and is one of the city's most famous landmarks, being featured on the city's official tourism web site and on the official logo for Geneva's hosting of group stage matches at UEFA Euro 2008. Situated where Lake Geneva exits as the Rhône, it is visible throughout the city and from the air. Wikipedia

The fountain became the symbol of strength, ambition and vitality of Geneva and Switzerland. Its strong engines pump 500 liters of water per second to the height of 140 meters.

Aside from the man-made beauty, there are also natural beauties found on the lake itself like these swans which are so friendly to people. Photo below shows these feathered friends more closely with, of course, the Jet d'Eau in the background.
