Club100 // Contest//Steem Plants Week 43 - A Late Valentine Purchase But Still Worth It

A few days ago, February 14 to be exact, the whole world celebrated Valentines Day. It is what people might say the most romantic day of the year. It is a day for lovers, for sweethearts, for anyone who loves somebody. And usually, it is expressed through chocolates and flowers. The flower of choice is usually the rose, preferably red. But pink and white are also popular. Unfortunately, roses are also very very expensive on Valentines Day. Would you believe the price of 3 long stemmed roses wrapped in colorful plastic and mixed with some baby's breath and ribbon was running at USDollar 10? That's expensive for my standard. So I did not buy my Valentine any flowers.

But as luck will have it, the next day, February 15, while driving home, I passed by a vendor selling roses, the long stemmed ones, at USDollar 0.40, not a piece but a dozen!!! What? Now THAT is cheap! I bought 5 dozens of red and pink roses and went home to give my wife her Valentine flowers. A little late, yes, but I would say, worth it. Here they are.

And we were even able to give some to my grandson's teachers in school but a little bit late but still appreciated.
