In regard to steemit? Not sure, with every ban wave or censorship event these alt-tech platforms get new life breathed into them. I still see posts being made, just looking for ones I'm interested in.
Surpassed in concept by LBRY which allows to choose the size of tips and has a sound censorship resistant structure based on a blockchain which lives on the BitTorrrent protocl.
Check it out, it's fair system and 10 million have joined in 3 months. Its coin keeps going up in value too, easily traded elsewhere too.
