More than 10,000,000 COVID-19 cases worldwide - What's next?steemCreated with Sketch.

Yesterday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the world excessed 10,000,000. That is the number of people officially diagnosed with the virus. The actual numbers are of course way higher, considering how lots of people get the virus without having any symptoms or visiting a doctor at all. It is also important to know that it is very hard to be tested in many countries, meaning that lots of people who believe they have been infected (or are infected) and want to be tested, simply aren't tested.

The situation in Europe

The COVID situation in Europe is "quiet" at the moment. As a result, most countries have opened their borders and they are now hoping that tourists will come and bring some sorely-needed money into the economy of the countries. But, we already see that the numbers are increasing. In Hungary, the officials have told the doctors to make as few tests as possible (maybe to keep the number low), and many suggest the same is happening in Poland (in order for the postponed votes to be kept sometime soon).

The situation elsewhere

Even though the situation in Europe seemed to stabilize, the virus is spreading more rapidly than ever in the rest of the world.

Here you can see that the amount of daily cases is getting higher and higher.

The United States is alone having almost 50,000 new cases EVERY SINGLE DAY, the same is true for Brazil, while India is having around 20,000 new cases every day.

It is easy to see that we are not at all finished with the Coronavirus yet.

What's next? What should we do?

Are you a business owner? Are you a blogger? Are you a video-blogger? Are you someone just doing their best to provide for the family? Are you unemployed? What's next?

We are dreaming of a vaccine that will solve the problem, but even if a vaccine is created, it will take a long time for enough to be provided to "solve" the COVID-19 crisis. In other words, I believe we need to prepare for more trouble in the coming months.

So, what should we do?

I believe there are different options, depending on where you live. Maybe you are in lockdown right now, or maybe you are enjoying the freedom of traveling and a summer holiday (like we are in Europe right now). But, here are some personal suggestions from me.

  • Prepare for more lockdown!
If you are running a business, prepare for tougher days. Think about what you can do to be ready if you once again have to go into isolation. Can you change your business model? Is there a way to make money, even though you are in isolation?

  • Create material for the future!
I have been thinking about this already... create material ready for a second lockdown already! What do I mean? When/If Europe is sent into lockdown once again, everyone will suddenly start to work on their products for the quarantine time. But, what if you were ready already? So, on day one when people search for information and help on YouTube or elsewhere for certain topics, then you are already there and ready. This might also include having fliers ready, websites ready, ads ready, articles ready, and so much more.
Maybe it will not be needed (let's hope we don't have to go into lockdown again), but if it is needed, you can start to prepare for it already.

  • Disaster ahead? Alter your path!
This is important! Maybe you feel that you wouldn't survive yet another lockdown. Well, then it is time to alter your course. Find a solution to the problem. What can you change? How can you modify your direction? How can you build a second leg on which you can stand in case the one you are standing on now is removed once again (due to isolation and lockdown).
Be creative, think, pray, ask people for advice, read articles that inspire, read books, and find that second leg... start today!

The big conclusion

Your fate is in your own hands, not in the hands of the coronavirus, nor in the hands of your government or an eventual vaccine. Plan for the future and prepare for more isolation.

If remember planting vegetables in March, knowing that I would get some vegetables in June/July/August that could be useful in case of lack of food. I actually had it in my mind. Luckily, I can buy vegetables in the store, but still... I was preparing for a worst-case scenario as well.

In the same way, when things are getting easier... don't eat more than needed. Save money for harder days. Don't waste your hard-earned money on the not necessary stuff.

We have a future that is hard to predict, so take your destiny into your own hands and do your best to be prepared for the worst!

I have really doubts about the fact the worldwide approximately 10 million people and in United States 2.5 million people who are published.
I really cannot imagine that in United States are 25% of the people worldwide.

No, I don't really believe the stats myself. I guess the truth is that they do way more tests in the USA (it is easy to get a test made), which leads to more cases. In other countries, it is almost impossible to be tested and as a result, the numbers are lower.

There have been rumors about another lockdown but we cannot be certain about what the outcome will be just yet.

No, we cannot... but it is better to be prepared for the worst, and then rather rejoice in the fact that it didn't get that bad :) Where do you live by the way?

I am from Nigeria and the situation seem to be worse over here.

Yeah, I see the numbers are increasing slowly, with officially more than 600 new cases registered daily...

Maybe we should find out the condition Europe is taking to normalize the numbers of infections in their country, then we all can follow and save ourselves.

Well, heavy lockdown helped at first, but now that they are opening up, it seems as if the virus might live "a new spring." Time will show!

How I wish the year can be restart and start afresh

That would be great, but somehow, I feel as if we are far from that, and maybe it is about to get even worse. Hard to predict... but I feel the same, 2020 hasn't exactly been the year of the century so far!

I am particularly in Colombia Bogota and tomorrow we must again enter an obligatory quarantine, it is a very difficult situation because there are many people who live from the newspaper and that makes the crime increase as well as the levels of violence.

Unfortunately we have to adapt to certain situations, but as you say we have to look for other options to get ahead!

Man, I hope you will do fine. Luckily in Europe, we haven't seen the increase in crime because of the virus, not like you describe, nor what others have described in Venezuela and other parts of the world. Take care of yourself no matter what!

Thank you very much, yes in Latin countries the reality is a little different!

@unbiasedwriter cases will be increasing more untill the vaccine is not invented and people will be dying also but in slow pace. We need to be careful as the next will start soon.

We should be careful, but so many "long to live like before" and that is why they live life like before, which makes it much easier for the virus to spread.
