Have you heard of the new and revolutionary protocol - PoV?

If you have read some articles about the blockchain industry, then you are familiar with concepts such as Proof of Work, Proof of Stake, Delegated Proof of Stake, Proof of Authority, and so on. But, have you heard about PoV? It has nothing to do with blockchain at all. Instead, it might be even more important in the coming weeks and months, and who knows, maybe years?

So, what is PoV?

I hope I am not teasing you too much. Wel, PoV is an abbreviation for Proof of Vaccination! Yeah. Told you so! It has nothing to do with blockchain technology. Instead, it is a reality that many of us are facing already. Where I live, in Hungary, people will have to bring their PoV (Proof of Vaccination) if they want to watch a football match, starting tomorrow. As restaurants and hotels are opening once again after months in lockdown, many of them will operate with proof of vaccination being a requirement for anyone to be able to enjoy the service.

This might differ very much between nations, but one shouldn't be surprised if proof of vaccination will be required at quite a lot of places in the time we have ahead of us.

Is it discriminating?

Yes, of course, it is! But, that doesn't make it bad. Many restaurants and hotels will not require their customers to show a vaccination passport (or whatever you call it), but another will. It might be a new part of our future, but hopefully, it will only be a short time in which this is interesting before everything returns to normal.

Those who love conspiracy theories feel even angrier because of this. Not only are governments trying to get them vaccinated, but if they don't, they will not hinder them from doing and enjoying things that are considered to be human rights. I can feel their anger just thinking about it.

It is easy to see things from the perspective of someone who loves conspiracy theories. But, it is important to see it from the other angle as well.

If the numbers will grow again, then the government will close down restaurants and hotels again. In other words, if the sickness will spread like wildfire again, then they will be forced to close. So, maybe it is wiser for a restaurant owner and a hotel owner to start easy, and then see how things will develop?

You might cause anger with the anti-vaccine people, but I guess there are quite a lot of travelers who will actually be happy to hear that a place is only for those vaccinated. It will make them feel safer as well!

No matter what, PoV has come, and I believe it is here to stay for quite some time.

I know many people haven't been vaccinated yet worldwide. Here in Hungary, everyone who wants a vaccine can get some sort of vaccine right now. In other words, nobody can say that they want a vaccine, but they haven't received one yet.

What do you think about PoV? Is it fair? Is it good?

Now I would love to hear what you guys and girls think. Is it fair? Is it discriminating?
