Let's start cleaning the air by "Artificial Trees"

Hello friends..!

It is a pleasure for me to greet you this time with a new post that will be quite a sensation, will arouse our interest and many of us will want to participate with this "artificial" alternative.

Today I will talk about the possibility of purifying the air we breathe, the air in our homes and cities with the use of "artificial trees", I confess that once again I am surprised by technology.

Is this a tree or is it an air purifier?

The main objective that we all expect from technology is to achieve a tangible benefit for humanity, the idea of purifying the air becomes a priority for the planet, starting with our spaces, our homes and cities where pollution is present and takes a leading role.

But the air purifying devices currently in testing and operation are bigger than “a tree” because they are intended to “clean” the air by sectors at specific points in a city, which is a good start in my opinion.

The operating principle of these trees is to filter the air by imitating the process of "photosynthesis" that real trees do, so that they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, in sufficient quantities to provide a city with clean air.

The most interesting thing is that there are currently several models with different operating philosophies, so their implementation in a city will depend on a simple choice: which one will citizens like the most?

Choose your favorite artificial tree

The most amazing thing about this device or "artificial lung" is that the models that are currently in operation in some emblematic cities have attractive characteristics for the urban environment, so it is no longer a "simple technological device" to become a "monument attractive and functional” in the city.

The two best-known models are described below, and which in turn fulfill the same function, "purifying the air for citizens":

1.- TreePods: designed by Mario Cáceres and Christian Canonico, this device imitates the process of photosynthesis but in an artificial way, it has the shape of a real tree with trunk and branches, which would be a perfect imitation of “nature” and how it is seen. Said previously of all these these devices, the elimination of carbon dioxide is done to generate "pure air", but in this case the process of eliminating CO2 is done through a process of movement and moisture balance.

The most interesting thing about this "artificial tree" is that it is powered by two systems; one is through solar panels and the other case is through a system that provides kinetic energy, this means that regardless of weather and environmental conditions it will always have a way to function. It should be noted that the "TreePods" is attractive for street furniture.

2.- Pau-20: designed by Jorge Gutiérrez, Pau-20 is a "metal box" that is more than 4 meters high, it can even be said that it looks like a "great wall" and manages to produce 200,000 m3 of clean air per day. This differs from the other “mass air purification” devices in that it consumes a large amount of energy to work, we are talking about 2.5 Kv, which means that in some cities where the electricity supply is compromised or expensive, its use would not be as attractive, but this does not mean that it is not important to have some of these in our cities.

Air is a natural resource that currently “we must manufacture”, is this correct?

I am very interested in the advances that involve the hand of engineering, in fact, there is no technology without engineering, however, I am concerned that I have reached the need to "make air", "purify air" and "imitate photosynthesis ” to do a natural function of our body “breathing fresh air”.

I think we have reached a point where all the "existential" processes that we have been carrying out naturally, such as simply breathing the air that our planet provides, are now conditioned by technology, and now apart from the problem of growing pollution in the world we must also "deal" with the operation of equipment that replaces the processes of nature.

hello @tocho2,
it is interesting how humans instead of taking care of the trees that nature took millions of years to form, want to make their own versions of trees. i hope this type of air purifier will be useful for space travel and future colonization of mars.

I love your comment @trabajosdelsiglo, and by now I'm thinking in this too, LOL

Wao @tocho2, without a doubt science never ceases to amaze us, since day by day it shows us with each of its works the great benefits it gives us as users and since we have not been able to create an ecological conscience and how science itself has been the main responsible for the deterioration of the planet. This is a good initiative.
Greetings

Hello @sidalim88, your'e right, science is very responsible for the pollution and other ecological damages.

Thanks for commenting.

Hi @tocho2

I had read before about the concept of Artificial Trees, no doubt, they are a positive step in the direction for contributing to sustainable development. Somehow this kind of technology represent in great part a real breakthrough to start in big metropolis with having spaces for life.

Best regards, be well.

Hello @lupafilotaxia, if it is a great advance, but the big cities would benefit from more natural trees, these are a great treasure of nature.

Thanks for comment

It is true that the air we breathe are getting polluted by many things, but technology has come to the rescue again. I am just hearing about the artificial tree now and I must say, technology has not ceased to amaze us.

Thanks for sharing this nice piece dear friend

Hello @samminator friend, I'm surprised too, but I think these artificial trees should not replace natural trees

Greetings @tocho2
Undoubtedly these are important advances in technology to help the environment, I am sure that it will be replicated in several countries, but this should not leave aside the awareness of human beings to also improve the environment and make proper use of it.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Hello @dgalan, I'm agree with you, we need to do a proper use of air an water in the planet.

Greetings my dear friend @tocho2, I am very surprised by your publication, trying to mimic the process of carbon dioxide capture and release of oxygen is certainly a technological advance, but I hope that this type of technology is not the excuse to ignore the environmental imbalances.

I think it could never replace trees because trees are part of a system, they are related to natural biodiversity and soil, without trees the world would be a complete desert.

See you later friend, have a great week.

Hello @amestyj, I'm according whit you. natural trees were "designed" to do this job perfectly, and technology would only mimic the process but should never be thought of replacing natural trees

Great ideas and great designs as well, but natural trees remain the best. Why spend so much to cut down trees and spend more to build artificial ones? lol, human nature though.

Hello @joelagbo, human nature is more amazing than technology ;)

The importance of tree's are indeed overwhelming, It is unfortunate however that the need for having trees around is sidelined for more housing needs.

I really can't wait to have properties of my own so i can have lots of beautiful artificial trees around.

Hello @gbenga, I according with you, and I like to have a big garden to plant fruit trees.
