Saving for the raining days: Business guide

While keeping up with my normal routine, i.e reading post on project hope community, I came across @ajewa's post which talks about how important it is to prepare for business disasters. He stated a good reason to back the post up and I am really impress by the content on that post. I will be using this medium to talk about my own part of how what he said were truth. Before I digress, let us use this medium to know what is Business disaster.

I will be dishing out my very own definition. Business disasters can be defined as the unknown and known challenges that a business faces. Since this diaster is something that can hit ones business and kill it just in a twinkle of an eye, it is advisable that you set measures in place to help you bounce back when such thing happens.

Since we have challenges that tends to affect man in life, same thing applies to business. There is no way you will set up a business and along the line not face disaster. In my country, when somebody sets up his business and along the line challenges sets in, he will be saying that enemies are trying to bring him down. Very low mentality.

While trying to set up my own business in the year 2010, I met a man for fund support, our discussion finally leads to disaster. He said my Son, hope you set everything in place before you want to run this business? I said yes. Remember that business is not bed of roses, you will surely face lots of challenges, the ability to conquer them matters a lot. Save aside for raining days because you will surely get hit along the line. I noted his advice and I applied it in my business and it worked perfectly.

After you get your business set up, the other thing needed is strategies on how to run the business. Take for instant, if you are into farming and you are making good amount of money from it, you should consider saving some certain part of the money you are making for anything that might come's up. When this is being done in the right way, you won't be afraid to face challenges.

My friend also told me that when he was running his business, the challenges that almost kicks him out of business was when thief stole all his wears. He was just confuse on what to do, this affected him as he almost became a mad man. While people were consoling him, some asked him how do he intend to start afresh. While thinking of how to start, he remembered his savings, he quickly run to check and behold, he found $4000 inside. He was shocked to see that he has saved that big amount of money in just a year plus 3 months duration. He calculated what the thief stole from his chop and he found out that all the stolen items cost just $2500. He was so happy, he rushed to market and bounce back %1000. As from that day, he pledges not to do without savings. He now knows that while running a business, it is very vital to have savings aside. This will be a first aid to you when disaster arises.

Mr Frank also told me a story which look like the one above. He said he is a business man that doesn't believe in savings. Because of that, he never takes savings serious. One unfaithful day, he received a call that his ware house is burning. He was shocked to received such call as business disaster hits him. The whole building was engulf with fire. To make it worst, he just used all his money to buy those items recently. Getting to the scene of occurrence, he saw that all his items were gone. he cried and cried, all lead to no avail. He had no back up plan so the disaster crippled his business.

By drawing conclusion from the two business men above, we can see that one was so wise that he planned the business forward by saving for the future. With such ability, when problem sets in, he was able to deal with it. The other one failed completely as there is no back up plan in place to help him. This is a lesson to everybody that is running a business out there, learn to save for the raining days.
