Perfectionism and optimism, although they tend to be similar attitudinal traits, tend to be totally different, especially when their analysis is carried out in the achievement of goals.

The difference between perfectionism and optimalism is so marked that when we think of finding an attitude contrary to perfectionism we end up thinking of optimalism, people who possess these two attitudinal traits may share the same objectives, ideals, philosophies, however sharing all these ideals, the only thing that stands out is the way in which they approach these ideals for the achievement of their goals.

The approach of a perfectionism trait implies facing achievements in a forced way being afraid to face failures, while optimalism as a trait faces the achievement of goals being optimistic and motivated, so failure along the way is simply part of a learning process.
