Your Challenges Do Not Decrease Your Value

A story was told of a particular man that was teaching his son about self-value and he went on to teach him that no matter the kind of challenges or adversity that one goes through, it should not decrease the person's self-worth. There are times that challenges may come but you have to realize that some of them are only squeezing you to bring out the best in your. When you want to extract the sweet juice from an orange, there is a need that you will squeeze it to get the juice. If you refuse to squeeze the orange, you may never get the juice.

Still on the story of the father and son; so the father did a practical example to show the son about self-worth. He took two pieces of money: 50 dollar note and 100 dollar note and showed his son to make a choice of the one he wants. Obviously, the boy chose 100 dollars. The man then rumpled the 100 dollar and still asked the son to make a choice, he still went for 100 dollars. Again, the man dirtied the 100 dollars and even trampled on it, but the boy still went for the 100 dollars even with the dirt.

After this experiment, the man asked the son why he kept choosing 100 dollars even with everything he did to the money. The son gave a very short answer, he said "no matter what you did to the 100 dollar note, it did not reduce the worth." Now the man turned to him and told him that this is exactly what happens in real life. He explained that no matter the challenges you face, it does not reduce your self-worth, rather it goes to unleash the best in you.

Before a sailor will be good, he will be validated by the boisterous sea. You see, without passing through the billows of the sea, he cannot realize his full potentials. When you get a raw gold from the mine, it will not look too attractive because of the covering of dirts. For the beauty of it come out, it must be passed through the refining processes and these processes involve heating, hammering, etc.

When raw gold passes through these extreme conditions, it will come out with beauty and its lustrous properties will be evident. In the same way, the challenges that you pass through are like your own refining processes which will bring out the best in you. So when challenges come to you, you should not look at the challenges like adversities nor as something that wants to stop you, but see the challenges as the tools that you require to unleash the best in you.

Whenever the challenges get tougher, you should know that you are closer to the point of your breakthrough. So, do not think that challenges decrease your value but through them, your self-worth will be amplified. More so, if you shy away from challenges, you are exempting yourself from the tool that has been designed to take you higher. Instead of wishing for challenges not to come to you, you should prepare yourself and get yourself better equipped and braced up for the challenges. Remember this, it will always take combat to emerge as a conqueror.
