The Way You Live Each Day
Live daily as if today is the only day you have to live.
This was the statement that a close friend of mine made a few years ago and I find it insightful and I keep thinking of it. If you live each day as if you will not have more opportunities to live well, then you will learn how to maximize each day. Even when you relate with people, have this in mind: "what if this is the last opportunity to relate with this person?" This will make your relationship worthwhile and you will not be casual about it.
Why many people misuse or abuse their interaction or relationship with people is because they think there will always be plenty of other opportunities. Well, just to tell you, the most potent and the longest-lasting impression is usually the first one. You do not have to joke with the first impression because it may go a long way to compromise other impressions and you may not have another opportunity to edit it or to recreate the first impression.
People tend to remember more about the first impression than your subsequent actions. You have to try as much as you can not to allow your character to create a long-lasting negative impression in the mind of others. This is not to pretend nor to be someone else, but you have to realize that even when you are trying to be the real you, do not flaunt your negative side. It takes maturity to be able to different between being the real you and being plainly rude.
Understand that no one likes to be treated with rudeness. The world is already getting so tough that people will not welcome the toughness of your attitude so adjust your attitude to tell well of you. Remember this, being rude and being well-mannered are products of choice. The person that is known for having a good character was not born that way, it was a choice he had to make. If you make the choice to be good, then goodness will become attainable. I believe this is the reason a friend of mine once made this statement:
Fake it until it becomes real.
It does not require much to live rightly, as long as you have decided to follow after the right path, then your actions will follow your decisions. If what you want to say or act will ultimately cost you your rightness, then you do not have to go ahead and do it. Take words for example; there are some words that people will say and they will murder the spirit of another person. Yes, words can create indelible impression in the mind of someone. This is why words should not be used carelessly.
As much as words themselves should be used carefully, the way the words are spoken should also be put into consideration. Like the tone behind the words, the facial expression while using the words and most importantly, other body languages - these are what form the impression as we communicate with people and should not be taken for granted. Always have in mind that you can only choose the way you act but you do not have a choice of the kind of impression that your actions will create. So if you want a good impression, then let your actions be good.

Every day is unique, so I really believe it will be the only one in its style, make the most of it is usually the best we can do, time is inexhaustible, but the time that each of us has if finite, so give it the best use even when we relate for the first and only time with someone is transcendental.

I have seen many times on television and read in some pamphlets a phrase that is used a lot for people who have a vice such as drinking, in short it is a phrase used in the centers of alcoholics anonymous.

Every day is a new chance to be a better person, treating people good will be back to us and if we treat them bad we will be treated badly in the future.
Making sure that the first impression be as good as possible, people nowadays judge so fast and might not ever give a second chance to prove you are better, and they will make up their mind.
