The battle of "INTEL" Vs "AMD" gets good

in Project HOPE3 years ago

Greetings to this respectable community and to my readers today I want to tell you about this competition that in recent years has greatly benefited the world of computer science.

  • AMD is an American company that develops semiconductors, i.e. processors, is headquartered in Santa Clara, California and is undoubtedly the current leader in processors in the market today.
  • INTEL is a U.S. company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, that company was the first to develop X86 processors ie 32bit, and the leader in processors for many years.

The competition of these two companies has been legendary, bringing out new processors every year but AMD was always below Intel for compatibility problems in the years 2010 to 2016, but in 2017 this changed radically, presenting processors that yielded much more than those of INTEL, and finished burying them when they came out the processors "Theadripper" Which exceeded by an abysmal difference the amount of cores, Now in the last two years, people specialized in testing components, realized that this amount of cores was in fact a failure, because it did not get much more performance except for some specific task, than any processor with 16 cores and 32 threads, since most of the processes of the remaining cores remain unused.

But AMD quickly rectified and released its 5000x series of processors such as the AMD RYZEN 9 5500X.

For its part in these last two years INTEL did not bring out processors using this technology that allowed him to join several processors in one if not continued with its range of 8 12 and 16-core processors with 16 24 and 32 threads respectively, now INTEL secretly began in mid-2020 to develop a new architecture for processors that will get more performance than any on the market, is where ARM processors are born with the Ander Lake series made the processors, have large cores and smaller ones that divide the task depending on the process that is running, ie the controllers direct the tasks to the respective cores that fall under their competence, it is like having an administrator who directs workers to their jobs where they perform better, of course INTEL is working with Microsoft to be the operating system who implements this set of instructions for the new cores.

All indications are that INTEL will be at the bottom of the processor market once again after several years of AMD's dominance, and it is time to wait for the first official tests of ANDER LAKE, which will arrive in December of this year.

The first computer I had had an AMD Athlom 64 processor, so my first contact with the world of PCs was with AMD. Over the years I had an INTEL. This battle has been epic and has brought benefits to users both in performance and in the expectation of knowing what each company will surprise us with in their next release.

Good post. We'll see what's next in the world of processors, I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello @rubenp, Thanks to this wonderful post it is that I manage to understand what this battle of titans like "INTEL and AMD" consisted of, I would never have imagined the lack of compatibility between one brand and another when making a replacement, and that all my "Frankenstein PC " I have assembled them myself, hehehehe

Hello @rubenp
There are always several companies that top the charts in certain items. In this case, two large companies, which live in competition. Surely there will be other smaller companies, who are trying to make their way in that field.
I don't know much of this terminology you use, to be honest, but I think you handle this quite well.

Of course there are more but they are not small in fact they can change everything.

  • TESLA
  • Zhaoxin a Chinese brand that is thought to revolutionize processors

Hello, @rubenp I know about this battle very well as I like to keep in touch with anything computer-related and I have to say I am loving this battle.

But I have to say that AMD is clearly winning the battle as Intel is trying its hardest to just keep up with AMD.
