Three major standards entrepreneurs must have in mind.

in Project HOPE3 years ago

When an entrepreneur starts something new and most likely when it is a physical business, the entrepreneur at some point will be yearning seriously for customers, partners and investors and when such time comes it is very tempting for an entrepreneur to say yes to almost every request by any of these listed parties.

Be ready to say No when you need to.

Before going into business at all, the mind has to be prepared for what will occur during the process of the business and as such have very high standard about the operational factors of the business. It is very difficult to say No to a request especially when it is business related but on no condition should standards be broken, these standards and protocols that one has before venturing into the business will make it rather convenient for a smooth operation to occur.

For example, we know that debt is a great factor for failure in most start-up businesses and this failure mostly occurs because those entrepreneurs think that saying No to those who requested for goods on credit will make them lose customers when in the real sense that act will only make their business suffer.

At the end of the day, you are responsible for everything that happens to your business.

Going into entrepreneurship will leave you with various advice and different suggestions on what you should you do with the space available, how you need to treat customers, the type of persons you need to employ and so on but when you understand that whatever happens to your business is in your own complete capacity, then you will be able to sieve out the several advice you are receiving from people and select the very best that will push your business to a better and greater level rather than just following every advice that you receive.

Empower yourself the more.

Self-empowerment is not necessarily what a lot of entrepreneurs are concerned about, when they start the business they just believe that they are good enough to make it happen and they ignore the impact of continuous growth and increased knowledge. Self-empowerment makes a huge significant difference in the increased growth of an entrepreneur, of course you understand that more than what you are building physically with your business, you also want to remain very relevant as a brand.

Hi @papa-mensa
Being an entrepreneur is definitely a full-time job. It’s an attitude that we have to take in every single step that we take. I really liked the tips that you gave here; it’s true, we have to be strong as individuals when we want to overcome through an entrepreneurship.
Greetings!

You are right, being an entrepreneur is no doubt a full-time job. Running away from the 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM job to become an entrepreneur is really a wrong choice. If you are going to become an entrepreneur, you will be working all day long for a very long time.

I like the last point - developing yourself as a brand will really go a long way in making you appreciated for a long time.
