The effect of Covid-19 on the Future of Transportation
Air travel has become an integral part of the world’s economy as a lot of people travel for businesses, conferences, relaxation, and vacation. A lot of families have days in the year they spend travelling for relaxation and get together. Although the airport was a place for almost everyone as it was always full just like the train station but with the emergence of the Covid-19, things have changed with air travel. It is true that this will take a lot of time to go away.
A lot of airline companies that fly both locally and internationally have parked their planes and have been recording losses since the beginning of the year. Airline industry around the world is in shambles as a lot of people aren’t flying and it is affecting flight. A friend of mine says he isn’t sure things will get back to normal until 2023. A lot of airlines have reduced the number of seats on flight as well as other health and safety tips but are passengers still certain and sure of their safety?
Most airports are always crowded and not designed for social distancing as people can move from one place to another, but it is certain now that people will have to be careful about contracting the virus from another person at the airport. If a vaccine isn’t found, the airline industry will be down for long.
The Covid-19 seems to be a major problem in the airline industry but no one has looked into the road, and rail transport since this businesses aren’t listed on an exchange. In my state, people now give social distancing when going to board a bus also buses aren’t carrying full capacity and drivers are asked to perform temperature scanning as well as clean their vehicle and perform other safety precautions for Covid-19. A lot of drivers have been affected by the virus and this has at the same time affected a lot of businesses.
The transport sector is going to be facing a lot of hard times during the coronavirus period, it is not singled out to a particular industry. What are your thoughts about transportation in the coming months and will you be travelling anytime soon?
The truth is that covid has paralyzed many things in our lives, from the way we dress to the fact that we stay locked up for long periods! It is very likely that all this will continue and last much longer.
