The leaves of the trees cannot be said to be waste in themselves, in rural areas they have many uses, from leaving them as natural fertilizer to using them as food for livestock in times of scarcity of pastures, but in urban areas they are collected between 20 and 30 million tons in the United States alone, which is really garbage.

Las hojas de los árboles no se puede decir que sean un deshecho en sí, en las zonas rurales tienen muchos usos, desde dejarlas como abono natural a utilizarlas como alimento para el ganado en época de escasez de pastos, pero en las zonas urbanas se recogen entre 20 y 30 millones de toneladas solo en Estados Unidos, que realmente son basura.

But now a young Ukrainian inventor named Valentyn Frechka has created an innovative method to turn dried tree leaves into sustainable paper. Fallen leaves are collected responsibly, mainly in urban areas, washed thoroughly to remove impurities and dirt, and subjected to a chemical-mechanical process that crushes and softens them.

Pero ahora un joven inventor ucraniano llamado Valentyn Frechka ha creado un método innovador para convertir las hojas secas de los árboles en papel sostenible. Las hojas caídas se recogen de manera responsable, principalmente en zonas urbanas, se lavan a fondo para eliminar impurezas y suciedad.y se someten a un proceso químico-mecánico que las tritura y ablanda.

Through this process that uses high pressure and steam, the cellulose fibers are separated from the sheets, creating a pulp similar to that of traditional paper that is mixed with biofillers and refined to obtain the desired properties of the final paper. The resulting paste is spread into thin sheets and dried to form sheets of paper.

Mediante este proceso en el que se utiliza alta presión y vapor , se separan las fibras de celulosa de las hojas, creando una pasta similar a la del papel tradicional que se mezcla con biocargas y se refina para obtener las propiedades deseadas del papel final. La pasta resultante se extiende en láminas finas y se seca para formar hojas de papel.

This process consumes less energy and water than traditional paper production, while reducing the need to cut down trees for its production and giving fallen leaves a new use, thus preventing them from ending up in landfills as garbage. As if this were not enough, a biodegradable and recyclable product is obtained from all of this.

Este proceso consume menos energía y agua que la producción tradicional de papel, a la vez que disminuye la necesidad de talar árboles para su producción y se da un nuevo uso a las hojas caídas, evitando así que terminen en vertederos como basura. Por si esto fuera poco, de todo ello se obtiene un producto biodegradable y reciclable.
