The second most intelligent species on the planet is in danger of extinction

Recently I read a very tragic article, which awoke in me a very disturbing feeling, the title of the press release to which I refer mentioned that all species of freshwater dolphins are in danger of extinction, reading these lines revealed in me this question How is it that the second most intelligent species on the planet is in danger of extinction?.
According to the arguments presented by the specialists of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, in the last decade all species of dolphins have been affected by accidental mortality caused by fishing equipment, by dams built in rivers and by the pollution suffered by freshwater bodies.

In the publication, it was specifically mentioned the species Sotalia fluviatilis, known as Tucuxi, which according to biological reports is an odontocete cetacean of the family Delphinidae, whose natural habitats are in the rivers of the Amazon basin, north and east coast of South America, a species that currently entered the red list of endangered species.
Now, let's go back to the question: How is it that the second most intelligent species on the planet is in danger of extinction? First of all, we probably don't have logical answers to this question, because we know that there is a special relationship between human beings and these creatures, mainly because dolphins possess incredible affectionate characteristics, and secondly because they manifest behaviors that make us think that they are extremely intelligent living beings, therefore, it is intuitive that we care, love and protect them.

At some point, I came to hear that dolphins appreciate and accept us as friends, because they are creatures that respond to social stimuli, and have the ability to solve community problems, in addition to recognizing when humans are in trouble, and somehow show interest in saving people in danger, in this situation is to analyze that we humans have broken that relationship of friendship with the dolphins, and we became a threat to their existence.

OBSERVATION

Hi @lupafilotaxia
I feel just like you. The idea of losing so many species in so few years is disturbing and heartbreaking. I understand how the idea of intelligent animals vanishing from the globe makes it even more hurtful.
We need a system change. For the good of all living beings on this blue planet.

It is extremely disturbing, it is urgent to get out of the media, and generate concrete actions, which tend to create balance to the serious disorders that over time we have caused. Thank you @elenahornfilm, for your kind visit and accurate commentary, cordial greetings.
It's sad because the thoughts that these things are unlimited still exist in the mind of most people. Well, we hope for the best
Greetings friend @joelagbo
Exactly, it is a mistake to believe that unlimited, so, this way of thinking puts in doubt if we really are the most intelligent living beings on the planet, since we always act against the balance of the ecosystems, and we are even a threat to our own species. Thank you for your kind visit.
It is really sad but human activities continue to pose a treat to the natural existence of these beautiful creatures.
Greetings friend @ben-edom
It is very sad, and even more so when we observe that no accurate measures are taken to counteract this type of actions that attempt against the life of another species.
Greetings @lupafilotaxia, without a doubt it is an exceptional species for its behavior and characteristics, it is unpleasant news that it is on a red list as an endangered species, I believe that we still have time to take action to try to reverse this situation. Thanks for the information
We have always been on time, to act in favor of generating balances, the point is that, we do not act in favor of life, our passage through the planet is predatory.

It is known that some hunting techniques are dangerous for dolphins, and habitat pollution is sufficient cause for their disappearance, no doubt we are a threat to many species, but when they are such intelligent and sociable animals it is truly unfortunate.
Greetings dear @emiliomoron
Right, it is an unfortunate issue, because their style of emotional connection and their ways of communicating with us, implies that we must have feelings of family ties towards them, hence, the normal is to provide protection, but contrary to this we only act against them.
Our behavior and disorientation, coupled with the lack of knowledge for the conservation of these species has done as the freshwater dolphin is added to the list of endangered species, we hope that conservation experts can take some specimens in captivity to proliferate some specimens and not become extinct.
Greetings friend of @carlos84
Conservation through captive methods has always given positive results, however, I believe that more radical measures must be taken at once, since it is useless to cover the sun with a finger, when we know that energy moves around us. Action must be taken and the aggressors of this species must be penalized. Thank you for your visit.
