DOJ seeks to prevent criminal actors from profiting from cryptocurrency marketsteemCreated with Sketch.

At the time of writing this publication the price action of the main cryptocurrencies was showing signs of recovery, which in the case of Bitcoin was already above $27,000 which somehow creates a favorable environment.

However, beyond the favorable environment that is perceived by the rebound in the price action, news in regulatory matters do not cease to emerge, and to this is added that recently it was announced that the US Department of Justice will take action against cryptocurrency platforms.

When I say that the US Department of Justice will take action against cryptocurrency platforms, I am referring to the actions taken by the cryptocurrency unit of the federal agency by promising to take action against illicit activities in cryptocurrency platforms and mixers.

In an article socialized on the "DiarioBitcoin" portal by columnist Hannah Perez it was disclosed that the head of the DOJ's cryptocurrency division, Eun Young Choi, promised that the agency will crack down on digital asset trading platforms that commit illegal activities.

According to the press release and according to a Financial Times report published Monday, the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team (NCET) is targeting cryptocurrency exchanges that allow "criminal actors to easily profit from their crimes and withdraw money" as a means to combat crime in the sector.

The truth is that the DOJ director explained that the department's focus is on companies that circumvent anti-money laundering rules or know-your-customer (AML /KYC) controls.

In particular, I consider that this type of measures point in the right direction, the point will be to see how the managers of the exchange platforms react.

Hi @aplausos

The scenario with DeFi had been in apparent calm, that scenarios like this arise raises doubts for me.

Best regards, be well.
