Although the potential offered by blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies is undoubtedly very attractive, I believe that something fundamental has not changed with respect to fiat money. I mean, we're still human and just as there are scams in businesses that use fiat money, there will also be scams in the crypto space.
You just have to think about it a little and prepare accordingly. Education is very important and as you say: "bet the money you are willing to lose."
