I would add as a complement the revision of the hard disk.
There are several software that allow you to check the state of the disk: bad sectors, temperature, hours of use and number of starts. These data would provide you with valuable information regarding the useful life. This in case you buy a second-hand laptop, since if it is new we must assume that it will have a new disk.

Solid storage devices are the best option, although their price is still high for being a relatively new technology.
