The massification of information has paradoxically created disinformation coming from different media, such as social networks, mobile applications, and media corporations, among others.

The convenient news replaced the truth or the one that narrated the facts from an unbiased point of view so that it was the person who took a position according to his own discernment.

The so-called fake news, spearhead of Infofrenia, are so common that they even assure deaths or accidents that have not occurred and invade all types of media, creating in many cases panic and unfounded alarms or biased points of view by some editorial line.

In this way, large corporations always show one side of the coin and, according to the reach of their multiple instruments, create alternate realities and convince the informed of a truth that is not the truth.

It is often difficult to get away from this, especially when the global domain is in the hands of a few and the counter information is attacked closing the way to reach the user, even the virtual accesses are annulled and we seem to enter a virtual reality so fashionable nowadays.

Infophrenia is a pandemic that for some time now has plunged entire countries into a media war that has even provoked internal and economic crises, wars and attacks under the banner of truth.

It is impossible to escape it and the only cure is to disconnect from everything that means information or follow the example of the three little monkeys, I do not see, I do not hear, I do not speak.

Sort:

Information is power but when we are misinformed there is whole lots of problem so called media, and new outlet misinform listener this incites fear and hatred the truth is we can not do without information but we can control what we digest from information we read thanks for the shear.

Exactly, we must be cautious in believing everything we are told and check the sources.

Hello @joseph1956, society is becoming intoxicated with news that arrives in a burst through all the media, many of these news become fake.

but we would be talking about 2 simultaneous problems: one is the fact that we currently have many social networks that serve as media and in some cases have come to replace traditional media such as the printed newspaper and TV news; The other case is that many people without being journalists are participating in the news broadcast, they have been given a credibility that does not correspond to them and this is what makes the dissemination of fake news possible.

This combination of these two factors is what is polluting our minds with an avalanche of news that is often unverified and remains in our heads causing havoc, stress and "mental pollution".

That's right, the practice of journalism no longer exists and professional ethics is in decline, so that we must as a first rule not to believe without verifying.

It's true @joseph1956, your'e right about it..!

I think that in this case the possible solution would be to document the issues that appear in the news and seek other opinions. Move away from the highly suspicious or yellowish media, try as much as possible not to promote disinformation and promote the truth of the story.

It is a good alternative and perhaps the best way to avoid being intoxicated with so many lies from the media corporations or exacerbated fanatics.

Hello friend,
I am amazed at the way the news is presented and often manufactured these days.
It is not just the proper news channels but also social media that has started its own news making and distribution service run by people and it is so distorted.

The power of the media is transforming the world into a virtual reality that is enveloping us.

Hello @joseph1956
It is a pandemic, just as you say, the truth is that there is a lot of information circulating and the vast majority is not true, it has no foundation, the problem is that the masses seem to really like to be glued to cell phones day and night, and thus feel that they are connected, is this a big problem today, because it allows the manipulation of minds is much easier.
Good topic. GREETINGS.

That's right my friend, notoriety seems to come hand in hand with lies and many use their social networks for that purpose or become youtubers transmitting unverified information.

Infophrenia is a pandemic that for some time now has plunged entire countries into a media war that has even provoked internal and economic crises, wars and attacks under the banner of truth.

You're on point here.

The kind of negativity that is being feeded through both social and the traditional media is something to worry about and no amount of education seems to solve this issue

That's right, the media has distorted the lie and imprisoned the truth.
