Hackers in the service of nations

The year 2022 has been the year in which hackers have stolen more money in cryptocurrencies by exceeding the figure of 3 billion dollars according to the analysis made by the company specialized in 'blockchain' Chainalysis Inc.

October being a month of great activity since in just a fortnight hackers have stolen 718 million dollars.

The novelty of all this is that the indications are that these embezzlers are made up of people hired by the states for this purpose, which would mean that a silent war against the market would be taking place and that this money would be falling into the coffers of countries to be used to alleviate their economies.

This same company claims that groups affiliated with North Korea have stolen an estimated $1 billion in this year alone by exploiting weaknesses in the security, encryption and structure of the DeFi protocol markets to gain access to the money.

Recently Binance was caught despite its supposedly robust system and NFTS has been a common victim of theft, something that coupled with the drop in coin prices has scared potential investors away from the business and perhaps therein lies the heart of the matter.

That a hacker does it for personal reasons is something that can be considered common, but that they belong to a certain country that has seen an alternative form of economy in the looting of cryptographic assets is more worrying.

The truth of the matter is that 82% of the losses so far in October are linked to the so-called 'cross-chain bridges' and the total number of hacks in the ten months so far this year is in the order of 125.
