Decentralized Autonomous Wireless Networks
WEB3 and many other blockchain-based protocols rely heavily on decentralization. DePIN, another area influenced and enabled by decentralization, has been a popular topic on this site since early 2024. I predict the DePIN industry to expand dramatically in the future years. It has so many good dynamics that it's hard not to be optimistic. Identifying a few major winners will undoubtedly be a trump card. However, it is impossible to predict which ventures will succeed, or even survive.

That's where diversity comes in. Your odds improve as your exposure increases. Dawn Network is another DePIN project that shares similarities with Grass and Gradient Network. These three initiatives are all based on Solana and provide a bandwidth-sharing mechanism that encourages nodes to stay online. Dawn is creating a decentralized mesh network on Solana. This reduces household Internet expenses considerably and opens up new potential for providers.
Solana-based DePIN
Dawn has a massive following on X, outperforming many of its competitors. Dawn, like Grass and many of the other DePIN projects described in this blog, uses a browser plugin. The installation process is quick and straightforward, requiring no technical knowledge. Once installed, the addon mines points in the background, which are then turned to DAWN tokens on the Solana blockchain.
