👾 Hello Steemitverse 👾

Currently with the atypical situation in which we are experiencing, online classes have risen to unsuspected levels. So much so, that my Network classes are taught through the Classroom platform to be able to take better control of the assessments and dictated content.

Luckily I finished the summer yesterday,(last night at 23:59:59) but as one is the way it is, I personally finished the last evaluation at 2:00 due to endless work that I had to do during the week.

The last evaluation consisted of the following:

Design a LAN network in a campus with the following characteristics

  • Assigned IP address 192.168.1.0/24
  • 5 floors including ground floor
  • Safe area floor 2
  • Simulate 6 computers per floor with their respective IP addresses, perform subnetting for the correct distribution of the network.
  • On floor 2 and 4 the ip addresses will be dynamic.
  • Set up a printer on floor 2 and floor 4
  • Configure the web servers, DHCP, DNS.
  • You install an accsess point on floor 5

These I got down to work, with the help of two classmates with whom I exchanged information and opinions on the matter.

I began by imagining how this building would be located for its further development. The first thing was to install the Router, right in the middle to be able to connect it to the server room on the left. A server room that would contain 1 Switch and 3 Servers (DHCP, WEB, DNS). Then go place the structure vertically for the floors. In this step I only replicated from bottom to top each floor with its 6 computers and swicth. Then I added the printer on floor 2 and 4, the access point on the top floor and connected it to a laptop.

To determine the IP addresses to use, we did a calculation days ago to make it possible:

Captura de pantalla 2020-09-04 a la(s) 12.33.29 p. m..png

Now that I realize it, I have an error of an extra number (1) in two addresses; 192.168.1126 should be 192.168.126. Like 192.168.1158 it should be 192.168.158. 😓

With this I proceeded to give the IP address to each of the computers, beginning with the configuration of the servers and then concluding with each of the aforementioned.

This undoubtedly for me was a challenge, in every possible way. Due to my lack of attraction for the networks, I never liked them despite knowing their potential. If it weren't for the colleagues with whom I woke up doing the activity, I would not have been able to do anything (literal).
