Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)

Greeting everyone @i-am-ejaaz from #Pakistan

Today I am going to write about human-computer interaction (HCI). So, first of all, read its definition. “Human-computer interaction is research in the design and use of computer technology that focuses on the interfaces between people and computers. HCI researchers observe the ways humans interact with computers and design technologies that allow humans to interact with computers in novel ways." HCI is a branch of computer science that works in such a way that humans can interact with computers more effectively and in an easy way. Every computer device that is being used by us has been passed through HCI researchers.

For example, if today we are using a computer keyboard that has the first row of keywords 'Q,W,E,R,T,Y', then who decided this keyboard design? Although this is not a proper alphabetic order like 'A, B, C,D’. Definitely, these tasks are being performed by HCI researchers who conducted research on them and produced the result that these keys should be in an order that typing speed can be fast. Which keys are most used in typing? They should exist under fingures. This is a basic example of HCI.

HCI mainly works on three main components: (i)The user (ii) The computer (iii)The task

These components are based on the user's decision about what to do with the computer, and then it is decided that how many ways are available that the user can do his job with the best approach? The best approach they decided on was different, like it should be fast, easy, costless, and so on. This approach is not only limited to computer science, but you have also looked at how a vehicle breaks by managing the driver’s feet and its movements while staring into his hand. This is the best approach to handling the vehicle.

I hope it will help you understand the basics of HCI. Stay tuned for more technology-related blogs.
