AI Software engineer "Devin"

in Project HOPE3 months ago

Greeting everyone @i-am-ejaaz from #Pakistan

I am a software engineering student with a technology background, and being a student of software engineering, I am writing about the new release of AI-based software engineer, Devin. A few days ago, an AI software called Devin was launched. It is given a detailed command, and then it first does a complete plan based on the given command, like any software engineer. Then it writes code for development in its built-in code editor. If something goes wrong with it, it debugs it using its built-in debugger.

And after its launch, many software engineers are afraid that it will replace us. But I would like to ask you to think for a moment before you move on: the uproar over Devin's release is far greater than the uproar when ChatGPT was released. GPT was launched, and it has been almost 1.5 years since ChatGPT was launched. Has ChatGPT replaced any software engineers or anyone in the IT sector? The answer is not at all. In fact, all these AI tools do one job to some extent, and to that extent, they perform better than us humans, but in all kinds of situations, they are not just like humans. Devin has been advertised in such a way that the name of the company gets out, so everyone is worried, but in production, these things cannot compete with humans at all, but in reality, they will prove to be beneficial to humans. For example, chatGPT is currently being used by most developers who, when it was released, were thinking that it would be replaced by us, so I would say that if you are a software engineer, don't be afraid of it at all; it won't replace you, but you should improve your skills to become an AI master so that no one replaces you.
