Don't Let Anybody Rush You
You're the only one who knows where you're going to in life. Hence, don't let anybody come from nowhere, and try to rush you. You're the one who knows the map that leads to the destination you're headed to in life - stay focused on your plan.
People will want to dictate to you how you should live your life, if you let them - so don't. If you're an adult, then you have a right to how you want to live your life. People will always want something for themselves. Usually when they rush you, it's to benefit themselves.
You must understand that you're on your own in this world. When push comes to shove, most people will abandon you. They'll leave you to face the consequences of your actions - even if it was them that rushed you into doing it. As a result, move at your own pace.
This doesn't mean that you should be sluggish and unnecessarily slow - this simply means that you're taking the required amount of time, to move up the ladder from one level to a higher level. But some people will want to rush you to jump steps - don't let them.
You should always let people know that you value their opinions, but when you've made a decision on your life path - they should respect it. And mind their business, and let you do what your heart desires for yourself. Keep moving at the pace that you've calculated is ideal for you.
People will always be there to dictate to you how you ought to live your life. It is left to you to make the decision never to get yourself pressured by other people's opinions.
