In this my entry post, I will like to break the statement by Erich Fromm into two phases.

The first one is education makes machines that act like men

I will start by saying that when you educate a machine it means that you program the machine. We have many machines or equipments that are programmed in such a way that they think, act and make decisions like man.

The world had moved into the era of artificial intelligence. We have a lot of expert system, machine, robot e.t.c that use Artificial intelligence.

In other to make life easy coputer codes are written and Machines had been educated by encoding and programming them to response to certain situations of life in a way.

Using human robot called humanoid robot as an example, this type of robot can have the shape and figure of a man or woman, the robot is educated through the act of coding to behave like human being and carryout some human activities.

I will like you to meet Sophia the first Artificial Intelligence humanoid Robot. You can click here to watch a YouTube video on how Sophia as a result of good education ( I mean coding) not only act like a man but also behave as human being and respond to questions.

I think I will not do justice to this first phase if I stop on robot alone, we have other expect system that count on the decision making of human to resolve difference issue. Also we have machines use by human that can do and act like a man e.g cutting machine, washing machine, sealing machine e.t.c in every industry and sphere we have difference machines that make work easier and faster for man.

The second phase in the sentence stated that education produces men who act like machines

One thing about machines is that it work in a fast rate. In some cases education make you to think in a fast, advance and excellent way, although my claim is not 100% but I can say that 70% of people that are educated think in a faster and more excellent way in their scope of work.

As a result of vast knowledge acquired by education you think and approach things in a better way and this help in providing an excellent results. The same goes for machines. They are more faster, error is reduced and the product most of the time come out in an excellent way.

Education can make one achieve alot at a very fast rate while ignorance can and will slow down your work.

In conclusion, I will like to say that education help machines to behave like a men and at the same time help men to exhibit some of the characteristics of machines.
