The past few days again have reminded me of the very important reason why good health remains a very strong necessity. Malaria is a major problem in this country and for some of us it has become a strong health issue, for me I have been so busy with work that even when I feel ill, I just want take simple medications and get on the move. The past few days, however, have come with a serious impact on my health to the extent that it kept me glued to my bed, which has reminded me that, there is absolutely nothing one can do out of ill health.

The essence of good physical health cannot be overemphasized, taking care of our health and that of our family. While speaking of good health, means it is a state of complete emotional, physical, and mental well-being. Having good health is the path to handling stress and having a long and more active life, and mental health is the two most discussed health types, others like financial, spiritual, and emotional health are also highly significant contributions to overall health.

Physical health is very important, it is a person who has strong physical health will have their body functioning and processing appropriately at its peak. Constant exercise, balanced nutrition, and proper rest, significantly contribute to good health. When we look after our own physical health and our well-being, the risk of health issues and health injury can be completely avoided.

Taking care of our physical health is essential to having a good quality of life, simple health tips like the;

  • Practice of safe and effective hygiene.
  • Minimizing of work place hazards.
  • Avoiding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs.
  • Appropriate vaccination at the right time.
  • Going for regular medical check-up at the right time and taking medications as prescribed will also help.

Mental Health: The mental health of a person is also as significant as physical health. It is highly difficult to diagnose mental health issue when compared with physical health. Good mental health can be classified under the act of depression, anxiety and other forms of disorders, it could also sometimes be dependent on how well one is able to take care of himself or herself, some people enter into a season of mental health disorder when they stop feeling secure and safe, and for others, it is in their inability to achieve their full potential.

Regardless of which area of health is affected, either it is physical or health wise, it remains important for us to take care of it. If you need to take out time to rest, then absolutely take all the needed rest.
