It has indeed been promoted very often. I do use Brave on my smartphone but I did not activate the reward portion since I understood it as a tipping system to use the tokens earned. I do know that some users tipped themselves on their youtube accounts and other ways to get the tokens. Posting on steem may spend lesser time with higher reward.
Curiosly enough, I have found Brave Rewards on my phone (iOS) to be way more effective than the desktop version: ads are more consistent and are served frequently, which results in my mobile BAT being always more than my desktop BAT. (we're talking 14 BAT on mobile vs. 2 BAT on desktop, not really jackpot size, but still one order of magnitude)
My point EXACTLY. At the end of the day the scarce resource we all have is time, so we need to optimize the return on it. If the reward/token from Brave Ads doesn't match the value of personal time spent on setup and distraction, eventually the proposition fades away.
