Businesses Hitting Big During this Pandemic
For every crises, there are always people who will gain and people who will lose and this 2020 crises isn’t a difference. Although, a lot of people and companies have been seeing high level of setbacks and loss but even in this pandemic, there seem to be a few companies and sectors hitting it hard and winning. In this post, I will be writing about a few companies and industries still doing well;
The Online streaming Platform
Disney plus, Netflix, YouTube, HBO and many more have left the weekend routine of watch to the everyday routine of watch as families want to enjoy movies and keep the fun going. Disney plus is what have saved the Disney empire as Disney parks were shut down, Disney movies were stopped. Netflix also enjoy this but platforms like YouTube which were free to watch and made money from advertisement got high numbers of viewers but less revenue as advertisement dropped drastically.
Online business
Business that had online presence like Amazon, Walmart, Alibaba and many more online businesses, saw a rise in demand that they had to employ more workers. A lot of people were unable to go to stores to get things they needed and they only had the option of buying things online. While online businesses saw a very high level of revenue, malls and offline stores were losing money as their businesses were shut down.
Cleaning Industry
A lot of people spent money on disinfectants, soaps and sanitizers during this pandemic. A lot of people started watching their hygiene and this led to increase in the purchase of cleaning and sanitizing agents. Companies like Clorox, Unilever, and other companies that produces soaps and disinfectants.
Delivery Business
The delivery business saw an increase in demand as people were unable to shop for things they needed from stores and malls. Companies like Instacart, Amazon food delivery service, Dominos delivery service and many more saw a rise in demand.
Social video communication service
In the previous years, people only used Zoom or Skype for business purposes but within the last few months, the demand has changed. Families need to interact with one another, friends need to keep up old gist and check up on themselves and so on. Within the pandemic period, people had Zoom birthday parties, Zoom Hangout party and other form of hangout.
Pharmacies
One essential commodity is medication and people started stocking up on vitamins since that was one very good way to boost the immune system is taking vitamins which brought an increase to buying vitamins and supplements.
I hope these businesses can keep up with this after the pandemic when things go back to normal.
