Currently, there are about 4 main startups, that have positioned themselves as superiors to the others, in China's Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry. And each of these 4 startups is worth over $1 billion in value. There's the Zhipu AI, that is supported by Tencent, and Alibaba Cloud.

Zhipu AI is worth about $2.5 billion in value. At the moment, they have about 800 workers and their objective is offering high quality AI solutions. Moonshot AI, which is worth about $2.52 billion, sets its goal at creating programmes that help desk employees and students in summarizing their texts.

Kimi, which is the name of Moonshot's AI chatbot, saw a tremendous surge in the number of monthly visits, of about 12 million visits. Located in Shanghai, is another major AI startup known as MiniMax. It's focused on the gaming market, where it creates anime-themed personality. MiniMax is worth about $2.48 billion in value.

The fourth major startup is the 01.ai, which is worth about $1.2 billion in value. It's objective is making models that are open source, and most importantly; targeted at the Chinese market. Due to the fact that OpenAI's ChatGPT isn't available in China, these 4 major AI startups compete for dominance.
