Lots of people hate the idea of doing small tasks, but they forget that a little child must first stand, before he can walk. And that same child must first walk, before he can start to run someday. That means that you need to learn to start small.

Those tasks that may appear as small tasks to you, and you neglect them; over time forms your discipline. And when the bigger tasks come, you may not be as serious as you should be. And that's why you need to improve how you treat what seems like small jobs.

There's a famous quote by Dale Carnegie, Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one, it makes you that much stronger. But the problem with most people is that, they want to suddenly arrive at the top.

They forget that the person you see at the top, has gone through lots of efforts to get there. And his approach to small tasks, is same as his approach to big tasks. Because it's the person who has mastered the discipline from small jobs, that handle the big jobs excellently.

And as Dale Carnegie rightly pointed out, every single time that you conquer a seemingly small job, it makes you stronger internally. And prepares you physically and mentally for the moment when the big jobs will start coming your way.
