Are Successful People Just Lucky People?

in Project HOPE3 years ago

This debate has probably been on for hundreds of years. Many people are of the opinion that successful people are just lucky to have the success that they have. Some people on the contrary believe that successful people worked hard for all they have achieved in life, and that they created their own luck altogether. Quite a stiff debate I must say. Let's take a deeper look at the different perspectives held by these different groups of people.

Let's look at the opinion of the first group. People who believe that successful people are simply lucky people. You'll agree with me that we can't blame these people who believe so. This is because, to achieve success in any given field, you definitely need some luck. The world is filled with numerous complexities, and for everything to work out for an individual to become successful takes some luck. The timing must be perfect.

And really, many successful people will tell you of a certain event in their lives, and without that event, they can't tell where they'll be. Some super successful people take heavy risk early on, to get their financial ball rolling and these risks paid off. Just what if, they were not so lucky and the risks wrecked them, like it would probably do with someone unfortunate. Some people would say a handful of luck is better than a truckload of hard work.

Now let's look at it from the perspective of those who believe that successful people aren't luck and that they made their success through hard work and diligence. Well, we can't also deny that when we study the lives of the most successful entrepreneurs and people we find that they spend several hours improving themselves daily and practicing endlessly just to gain perfection and a comparative advantage over their mates.

When we observed the level of effort and patience and perseverance that successful people put into their various careers, we also see that they in many ways they deserve the success that came their way. As they say opportunity meets preparation. Successful people prepare themselves, so that they can take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves. While on the other hand, unsuccessful people don't put any effort in making preparations for opportunities.

This is my perspective. I think that both groups of people are right. I believe that successful people are lucky in many ways, because some people even prepare themselves but good opportunities don't come their way. So it takes some luck. I also believe that successful work harder than unsuccessful people, hence to a great level, they deserve their success. Therefore, I believe that this should not be a debate anymore because both parties are correct in their views.

Thanks for taking time to read!

Successful people usually those who work hard and smart enough to stay successful, but those with luck usually don't last for too long.

I certainly don't believe in luck, we all have opportunities and we have to be prepared for it so we can make the best of it to succeed.
