The Future of Quantum Computing

Quantum computing is on the move to transform the technological world with integration of the principles of quantum mechanics to conduct high-end computation than the usual computing systems. Coupled with the concept of superposition, it stands in contrast with the classical bits that are presented in two states – 0 or 1. This allows quantum computers to handle massive data in parallel; in effect, solving problems conventional computers cannot solve at very fast rates.

It is believed that the most unique and probably applicable area of quantum computation is linked to cryptography. Hence, current encryption methods were considered to be vulnerable due to the capabilities of quantum computers, thus leading to the emergence of quantum resistant algorithms. Moreover, quantum computing could enhance the advances in drug development through molecular modeling and precise calculation of interaction which will in turn cut down the time and cost in the drug manufacturing process.

Despite being in its relatively early stage of development, the future of quantum computing is bright due to growing research and development and expected future development breakthrough in several fields, that could virtually guarantee the reduction of computational bottlenecks in the future.
